My examples aren't really going to sound very extreme, but they just get to me for some reason. I guess maybe something about women dying in particular strikes a chord with me?

In the newer version of Dawn of the Dead - the zombies eating people never caused me to bat an eye, but near the end when they're all in the armored bus thing, and that woman gets hit in the side with the chainsaw... I think maybe it's because it was an accident, on top of the horrible zombie situation, that bothers me.

In The Departed - near the beginning, Jack Nicholson's character is shown executing two people on a beach, a man and a woman. They're tied up and gagged, and he just blasts them each in the back of the head. I imagine it like this - that guy was probably a mobster, and probably had it coming, but the woman was probably just his innocent girlfriend or wife, and had the bad luck of witnessing something or being there when they abducted him.

Oh, and a bunch of stuff in The Mist - the dude getting all burned up, the army dude getting torn apart by the religious zealots, the incredibly depressing ending... a good movie, but messed up.

I don't really remember it but this girl reaches in a glass box full of broken glass, or needles or something like that to get a key. When she reaches in she gets trapped and dies from blood loss, it's more disturbing than gory.

Hmm, think I'd have to be the dinner scene in Salò.

Numerous scenes in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. That movie is awesome, but some of the bits are so disturbing and unsettling.

But the hands down creepiest, most disturbing thing I've ever witnessed was in a videogame. Quake 4's Strogg conversion. DEAR GOD. Nobody that has seen it will forget it.

A scene in Pan's Labyrinth where a hunter's face is beaten in with a bottle. Just made me feel ill watching it, even though I can watch gore-fests like Inglorious Basterds and District 9.
Ugh... Yeah... That's pretty nasty.

The entire movie "Se7en". Maybe I just get too into movies when I watch them, but that whole film shakes me to where I have trouble watching it.

The Girl Next Door by Jack Ketchum is pretty disturbing as a whole, especially since its based on truth.

This scene too. Favorite movie ever, but damn is that moment brutal.

Eraserhead is up there too.

That was so fucking disgusting.

Also; "Millenium", or "Men who hate women", or "The girl with the dragon tattoo", whichever country you're in.

That anal rape scene was fucking terrible. When she got payback it was terrible too, perhaps moreso, but that time the 'victim' fully deserved it.

Totally agree with this, it distressed me greatly (I had to give the DVD away after that)

Dude, your avatar just reminded me of the face-melting scene and monkey brain scene from the Indiana Jones movies.

I was a kid when I first saw those, mind you.

The chest buster scene from Alien. I was gob smacked when I first saw that.

Also in the movie The Thing, the part were the guy gets his hands ripped of by a stomach with teeth.
