I haven't seen a lot of horror, so I don't have anything on some previous posters. Even so, I have to say I found the scene in the miniseries of The Stand where Flagg rapes Nadine to have been epically disturbing. Not only is a woman being raped, but they had Flagg in that absurd demon face mask that just doesn't work on him. Both physical and character rape in one scene. My very soul cringes.

EDIT: Bit late to be editing this post, but I just watched it again, and I have to say: the scremas of the woman playing Nadine are way too realistic.

Sloth and Lust from Se7en...

Hostel, the scene where the girl's just been burned in the face with a blowtorch. <_<

The Midnight Meat Train, the ending where the train driver rips out the protagonist's tongue and eats it. You might not find it disturbing, but I felt it was worthy of this thread.

Oh, and just about every device in the Saw series.

The Pale Man from Pan's Labyrinth.

Which is odd, because compared to a lot of the other things said on this thread, he's pretty tame.

I'd have to say in saw 3 with the girl in the freezer. That sent chills through me (no pun intended) to no end, especially when she started to get misted with water.

For some reason my brain is very selective in what it decides to be horrified by, for instance I'm perfectly OK with people being brutally ripped to shreds in action movies but if the same thing happens in a horror movie it disturbs me and keeps me up at night. So I ussually avoid them.

OT: The scene in the new King Kong when the guy gets his head eaten by the giant worm, you know how some people go spastic when they see a snake, spider or rat? Well thats me except with slugs, worms, snails and pretty much all slimy things, so the thought of being eaten by one *shudders* it was just disgusting.

OM NOM NOM NOM

Disturbing shit for me in a film would be.... pretty much anything from requiem. More specifically though would be the anything with the needle infection scene and amputation.

The scene from Monty Pythons Meaning of life, when john cleese and his assistant (who plays the role of the organ collector) enters this organ donor's house, pins him on his kitchen table, uses a cleaver to cut him open and take out all his organs and puts them in a food cooler while hes still alive, and in agony.

i was fairly young when i saw this the first time, and i was a lot less desensitized but it still bothers me now.

The Normandy scene in Saving Private Ryan.

THe main disturbing thing was he soldier, with half of his intestines on the floor, pitifully crying for his mom. I nearly cried when I first saw that.

But I haven't seen many other movies... So sorry if you think this is a petty disturbing act
The disturbing part is that there will be people desensitized enough to think that isn't disturbing at all. No, it's quite disturbing, overall. :) Saving Private Ryan showed off a lot of the gruesome details of war. The Normandy landing was one of the more bloody instances of American involvement, and it showed in the movie.

I don't think you should appologise for being effected by such a grissly sight. The fact that you see it as one is probably overall, a good thing. You're not as desensitized as much of modern America.

NO! no, Fuck you! I had JUST put that horrible image out of my mind, and then I read your post. I hate you. SOOOOO much

OT: This wasnt so much a movie as it was an Anime. Anyone who watched Berserk all the way through will have seen "the Eclipse" Which...well...lemme sum it up for you. (anyone who hasn't seen the ending to berserk and doesn't want it spoiled, stop now)

Lets say your best friend was horribly injured in an accident, like, crippled from the neck down horrible, and was offered to have his injuries fixed and given immortality, if he sacrifices the lives of you and all his friends. now, the horrible part is that you, your friends, and your girlfriend are with your best friend when he does this, and your forced to watch as the people who offered him immortality brutally murder your friends, and you can do nothing but watch (what are you gonna do, fight them? they just killed all your friends) now, you and your girl friend are spared being murdered, but in the chaos, your pinned to the ground, your arm broken. and your Best friend, the transformation complete, comes up to you, stares and then starts raping your girl friend. in front of you. after all your friends were just murdered. and you can TRY to help, but you cant reach her, because you'v been pinned by the one of the murderers. you come up with one solution. Rip off your arm.

Thats the ending to Berserk, in a nutshell.
Dear god, I can see forever!

A lot of the scenes in Ichi the Killer were pretty crazy. There's a scene where a guy cuts his tongue out, a guy suspended from the ceiling with hooks in his back, a scene where a guy's severed face slaps against a wall, and several more scenes that are just horribly violent.
