Add me to the list of people who said Red Dead Redemption. Thing is, I didn't expect it to end that way (thought someone else was gonna die)and I cried a little when it was all over. The way the story is set up made me realize I actually did care about these characters.

MW and Dragon Age orgins, my character did the noble thing and turned down the offer from Morrigan, and the ending where Alistair talked about you was so fulfilling.

Edit: I totaly forgot about HL2:EP2 that hit me hard, it has you so happy and filled with success and then everything just breaks, it falls apart, hits you really hard.

A couple of candidates from <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.206764-Neutral-Drow-reviews-Kana-Little-Sister>Kana: Little Sister (most particularly "Out of the Maze" and "The First Farewell").

Just for me. I'd probably pick either the Kanon ending or "The First Farewell."
I agree for Kana: Little Sister, even before the actual endings it makes you cry. I can't bare to watch the scene before the intellectual endings. For me all the endings I have gotten so far have been sad to the point of tears.
Oh god...yeah, when she says <color=aliceblue>"Good night" for that last time, I actually had to stop playing until I could see again. I may or may not have been sobbing uncontrollably at the same time; I can't remember and would refuse to admit it if I did.

It's all worth it, though. Especially for one ending in particular.

Actually, the Kanon ending I mentioned is the one in that game that might even surpass Kana, for me. Especially since it was a one-day delayed reaction cry. >_>

Radiata Stories. Both of it's endings are emotional, but in completely different ways. God, that was a good game.

Sorry to be cliché here but the ending of Episode 2 without a doubt, the bit with Alyx crying over his body as the credits had me huddled up in an emotional wreck of a ball (ok I'm exaggerating slightly but it was pretty close), but the ending to Crisis Core did make me shed a tear or two as well. :(

Half-Life 2: Episode 2. There are more emotional moments I can think of in other games, but not at the end...
This thousand times over
you're all happy because you defeated the striders and the portal had been closed, but the suddenly... ELIIIII!!! Then it just fades into black with Alyx crying. I still just can't get over that...

Everything about Lost Odyssey had me rolling emotional.
Yeah, this is one of my first suggestions. A shame only so few got to see this great, bittersweet ending.

I was kinda moved at the end of 'Thief - Deadly Shadows'. If you've played all games in the franchise you know what I mean.

And... well... I'm an older gamer and belong to the ones who saw the ending to Final Fantay VIII a few weeks after its release. And it's enough to say that the 'videocam credits' made me a little sad because someone was missing. And then comes the final scene...

'Heavy Rain' had an unsuspectingly emotional effect on me. It really hit me when I found out what's going on. Felt like personal betrayal.

Well... there was this one time I defeated The Boss in MGS3. I wasn't prepared for how it went on afterwards.

Lost Odyssey has one of the greatest bittersweet endings I've ever seen. This game deserved much more attention than it has gotten.

And as I am an older gamer, I have to admit the ending of Final Fantasy 8 was very emotional. No, we didn't have YouTube back then.

I was sad when Roach and Ghost died in MW 2... I thought MW 2's campaign was great, same with MW 1, but it still gets a lot of hate...

Red Dead Redemption
Mass Effect 2
Jak 2 or 3 - It was a long time ago that I played them, but it was sad from what I remember.

Red Dead Redemption.

Blow that fed bastard to hell with his own pistol, then Jack turns around, freeze frame, Red Dead Redemption.

Fucking great.

Oh and I was talking about the epilogue, so if you haven't found it yet, well you shouldn't have clicked on it.

FFX was pretty sad.

However, the game that got the most emotion out of me was FF9. I know it wasn't a sad ending at all. But I was just so happy/excited by the ending. Just amazing.
