Here's a good one: I met one of the morning presenter of my local radio station's brothers in a Tesco car park on the way home from school...

He was handing out promotional radios.

I met Billy Connolly at a Blues Festival, and he taught my friend how to play the banjo. I also met John Cleese, he was hired by my uncle to do some stand-up for a wedding that I was at.

Nice people.

For those of us in Sydney, I also met Woodley and Steve Irwin. Woodley was a dick, but Irwin was awesome.

I've personally met Dirk Frimout [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirk_Frimout] a couple of times. He is an astrophysicist for the ESA. He flew aboard Space Shuttle mision STS-45 as the first Belgian in space. He sponsored a learning program which I was part of.

It's a funny thing, but the dentists is a really good way to meet local celebrities. I was there on work experience, and ended up sitting in a corner staring at Amir Kahn in the operating chair. There was also a comedian whose name I can't recall...

Plus, this didn't actually involve me, but a family friend is trying to get into the prosthetics business. Because of this, he has just gone to California, where he has arranged to meet Doug Jones. I may never speak to him again due to my jealousy.
