7. Hyper Beam (Metroid)

As for the *Most* Iconic weapon it'd have to be either the BFG9000 or the crowbar. Probably the BFG to be fair.

AWP from CS 1.5 Such a cheat one shot one kill weapon. You could shoot some one in the leg and cause excessive amount of damage!

The Spanner. I wanted to say the slot one melee weapon in general, but if I had to restrict myself to one of them, then the spanner is the one.

It's been in so many games filling out such varied roles as building sentry turrets, repairing jeeps and bridges, disarming mines and getting kills that are as humiliating as they are hilarious.

My runner-up is the shotgun, a staple weapon in practically every game that has one.
