My dad once blamed what he called 'the death of common sense' on people playing more video games.
He said something like this; 'Kids are spending too much time on their Playstations or Xboxes. I heard somewhere that the average is about 30 to 40 hours a week. They aren't going to learn how to look after themselves or anything useful playing those things'.

That's all I can think of really...

Well, he isnt that far from the thruth. Some kids i know only talk about "stuff they killed then, there and blah kill blah blah gore" when they are eating supper with the familly. Really annoying.

But in the end, game or not, its the parents that educate their children, if they let the TV, Internet or videogames be their 40h/week "babysitters", they are doing it wrong.

I wish i could take every single mother fucking person who has said any kind shit about games causing violent behavior in kids and show them in specific detail why they are wrong,

Off Topic: plus I hate how so many mothers and fathers in this generation pamper there kids saying "Oh, my little son or daughter would never do that. You obviously have no idea how good this kid is. you must of done something wrong. It's your fault". URGH it makes me want to freakin pop a cap in their heads for allowing there teenage kids to become druggy, snobby assed morons. And also it gives us good teens a very bad name. Then some the parents have the balls to assume most kids are like this, when in fact they are the reason for this mess.

Someone actually told me all video games cause horrible, irrational violence in every person who plays them. The truly ignorant part comes from the fact I was playing Wii Sports at the time. And they were completely serious.

My first instinct was the throw him out of my house. Instead I thew the Wiimote at him.

I'm working towards a Master's in Creative Writing so I can bring fantastic stories to video games. Because only with video games do I have the real freedom to have a story as long as a novel, but also have music and acting. The interactivity will be great with the boss fights I have planned.

Stupidest video game related claim eh? A lot of people like to claim steam is a good thing, that goes above and beyond the call for stupidity though it's more the most frequent stupid thing, not the worst. The worst has to be "We shouldn't allow the sale of R rated video games because it will murder the children" or something along those lines, I stopped listening the Michael Atkinson a while back, I'm rather frightened to hear his views on driving, voting, drinking, smoking, gambling, having sex, mature themed music, mature themed film and all those other evil, inappropriate for children monstrosities.

I'm sorry but that ones going straight up there, you think that there are more games developed for all the consoles combined annually than there are for PCs? Because reality disagrees. I love my consoles (well, other than the xbox 360, that's in the naughty corner for melting a solder right now), but there are far, far more exclusive PC games than console games. Hell, there have probably been more PC exclusives produced in the past month than current gen console games. One can speculate that without consoles there would be less massive budget PC games released, but then again without the console market the game devs would have to develop for something, so it's equally sensible to propose that there would be just as many, if not more, high budget PC games (actual games too, not xbox 360 ports with a .exe tacked on).
