Most Overrated Game

What do you guys think the most overrated game of all time is.


For me, it definitely has to be Modern Warfare 2. It had a short, stupid campaign, multiplayer that was a step backwards from CoD 4, and this game received a metascore of 94. The only thing they added was a co op mode which isn't even that good. The reviews of this game drive me to insanity because they state the major flaws and give it 10/10 anyways and people praise it.

Whilst MW2 didn't strike me as legendary as everyone makes it out to be I didn't find it to be a bad game at all. Halo 2 and 3 however merely struck me as generic and uninteresting. (Yes, I am talking about the multiplayer) actually fuck that. HAZE! Haze is THE most generic game I've ever seen, even if it wasn't considered much the fact that it was made to me makes it over-rated.

MW2 kinda, I know it's good but it did go backwards on great game play/multi-player experience and in the end it's just another FPS with more shiny objects in it.

Brawl, you can not justify to me that this isn't a bad game. They purposely put in things that ruin the game play and slowed the hell out of it after it was so fast before. Biggest step backwards I have ever seen in gaming if you ask me.

Ocarina of Time, it was a great game for it's time definitely but it will not be the greatest game of all time. I love this game, even more than the others, everything in it was just about done right and it did introduce a whole lot of new things to gaming but a lot of things can be improved in it. However the temples and bosses are still the best I have ever experienced.

The GTA games, but tbh, that is because they just are not my kind of game. My son has some of them (not all) and watching him play, I do as a gamer understand why people play them. I just don't get the blanket high scores they seem to get in some gaming mags, iygwim?

I think HL2 and I had this thing against MW2 even though I hadn't played it but just got it for Chrissy and am really enjoying it..
Yeah campaign was a bit short but I had a lot of fun in it and there was a lot more 'shock and awe'
Multiplayer is shit cuz they fucked with it (PC version)

Most likely not the most overrated game, but I want to complain about Devil May Cry. I neglected to play that game for years while everyone I know was sent into a drooling seizure of pleasure at the mention of the game, finally picked it up a few months ago for $3 and wanted my money back after the first cut scene. A game's writing is very important to me, although it can be saved by excellent gameplay. After the vomit-inducing opening of Devil May Cry was finished, I soon came to see that the gameplay didn't come close to making up for Dante's severe mental retardation a plot that I didn't give a shit about. I then played the whole game because I insist on trying to get my money's worth. Then I tried playing it on hard mode and threw it down a well two minutes later.

I hate Devil May Cry.

Halo. Definitely. I'm not saying it's a bad game. But it isn't that good, and people seem to worship it. "It's actually quite perplexing." Also, why MW2? I don't own the game, but I've played it with a friend. And I loved it. Maybe not as good as COD 4, but still so much fun. And it's nice to even have a semblance of co-op.

Gears of War 2. All the hype made it look much better than it was. All I got out of it was 3 hours of sub-par campaign and multi-player dominated by 13-year-olds.
