Far Cry 2 was pretty realistic, though it was therefore rendered incredibly boring.
What's so realistic about FarCry 2?
You can heal yourself instantly
Fix a car by turning a wrench a few times
Carry 4 weapons at once
Get riddled by bullets and not die
Your Malaria is affected by medicene

The only realistic thing I can think of is the gun condition thing.
Sure, all that stuff is true but, eh, it's a video game.

It requires some level of suspension of disbelief.

When I say it is realistic, I obviously mean relative to other games.

The way every action from entering buildings to healing yourself is performed in first person animations, the gun jamming, the graphical look... all stuff that is obviously not realistic but is more so than most games.

You all fail.

The most realistic game was also one of the worst, an unreleased joke minigame in Penn and Teller's Smoke and Mirrors for Sega CD called Desert Bus.

In Desert Bus you drive from Tucson, Arizona to Las Vegas wait for it... in real time. You also cannot pause, and nor can you tape down the controller and let the bus ride straight while you take a break... because the bus veers slightly to the right. The trip takes six hours and when you get there, you get a point. You then have the option of turning back and driving back to Vegas for another point, then rinse and repeat.

If you crash, a tow truck comes and tows you back to Vegas where you have to start all over.

The bus has no passengers and the desert has few defining features... five hours into the trip, a bug splats on your windshield.

Don't believe me? Here's the YouTube video.

The very first Rainbow Six was the most realistic. Before the mission you put together your team and put them into different squads and gave them weapons and armor. It was also a very frustrating game because you died in one hit.

This is search bar approved. Really.

What is the most realistic game?

My candidit is actually a huge strech.

Indigo prophecey.

Their are pills and alchohal on a counter. Take both, and your charecter dies.

Friggen awesome.

Even the first sequence is completeley beleivable. Run out the front door, causing panic and leaving little for the police to go on, or dispose of the weapon, hide the body, clean yourself up and pay the check, at the risk of the waitress getting a good look at your face.

I know the second half turns a corner at batshit blvd. but in a situation like that, Its beleivable how the eents would unfold.

This gets the search bar seal of approval

EDIT: no simulator games.

indigo prophecy is believable in its human aspects but story wise i dont think so.

and honestly i gotta go with far cry two except for he combat. i hate the game but the way you travel is realistic and the animations are pretty good. and the whole map system, which in my opinion sucks but is realistic to a degree

With the provision that Realism is internal consistancy, not relation to reality.

Actually Operation Flashpoint was pretty realistic too
Sad thing is, OFP actually taught me how to operate a handgun tactically.

Okay, so here's a wacky choice I haven't seen anyone offer up yet. Halo, the original. The regenerating shield is in setting justified, and the weapon limit is fairly plausible. It's not grim, nor gritty, but, within the context it's certainly "realistic." (Not a Halo fanboy, nor really a halo fan, but, just sayin'.)

ArmA II is the most realistic game ever released, hands down. There is no question, you can not dispute this.
Btw, if anyone said "Call of Duty 4" they really need to play some other games besides main stream.

I'll say that Rayman is possibly the most realistic game i've ever seen.

But in all seriousness that most realistic game i've PLAYED is GTA4, that i've PLAYED remember. I JUST got my xbox 360 so don't own too many games for it.

I'd say Rainbow Six Vegas 2 due to how armor effects how you take damage and speed. For example you can wear no armor and run fast but you can get killed a with a lot less bullet than compared to having a lot of armor means you run slower and not for as long but you can take a considerable amount of damage compared to having less or no armor. Plus reloading with a round chambered not only takes less time but you still have that round on your ammo counter plus the ammo in the clip. On top of that attachments on the guns effect accuracy and how much your gun kicks. Suppressors will keep you from being heard and drawing more enemies towards you from other rooms. The unrealistic parts are the that you can't drop more than like 4 feet without dying and a few other ones that I can not remember right now.

There is no other
Yes indeed. No other game captures the gritty realism of the falling block wars. It was such a dark time in human history that nobody ever even TRIED to make a game about it, before or since. Not counting the hundreds of remakes and flash versions that exist as well, of course.

Rainbow Six: Vegas was pretty realistic, kind of. So is Farcry 2.... kind of.
Far Cry 2 was realistic in the way that there are animations for almost everything. In Vegas there wasn't that many animations for your avatar.
