Most stupid reason to hate a video game character

Welkins in Valkyria Chronicles because his voice actor was the voice actor for a bunch of other characters I absolutely hated, Allen Ridgely in Xenosaga and Teddie in Persona 4 being the worst offenders. I guess he's a decent character but the voice always brings back bad memories. Not to mention it's absolutely impossible to take that voice actor seriously in a "heroic commander" role after the other stuff he's voice acted.

I hate Dante, because he is a childish annoying douchebag, yet people think he is "cool"... Which is worst than the regular douchebags in other games.

Did you know Trish (the blond in the DMC games) is a shape-shifting demon that took the form of Dante's mother? That's why I hate Dante, because he has an Oedipus complex.

-Trish looks like Dante's mom, it's heavily implied he bangs her on a regular basis, ergo: Dante bangs his own mom.

Ok, that changes Dante from a childish annoying douchebag, to a childish annoying screwed-up douchebag, and certainly not the "cool" guy Kamiya is trying to push through my throat every few seconds.

I hate Sky in Jade Empire because of his name.
I know it seems really petty, so let me eloborate.
"Hero" is IMHO the best martial arts movie of all time, aswell as one of my personal favourite movies of all time.
You take the name and the overall basic appearance of one character in the movie and put him in your game. Okay so far.

You keep the basic backstory the same. A little uncreative, but fine by me. If you're gonna rip someone off, you might aswell rip off something really good.
And THEN you turn the character from a deep-thinking silent badass and geniuenly fascinating enigmatic moral wildcard into a generic wise-cracking Han Solo-esque "mercenary with a heart of gold" western RPG stereotype.
It's like an insult to me on a personal level.

I hated Sam Fisher on Splinter Cell: Double Agent because even a month or two after he escaped from prison, his hair didn't grow back. Or he shaved it again... in which case, meh.

I hate Dante from Devil May Cry because Cutscene Power does not equal Gameplay Power

I hate Alyx Vance because of "zombines".

I hate Mandalore in Star Wars KOTOR II because he doesn't really have much to tell. Everyone else, even G0-T0, has something interesting to tell you.

I hate just about any kind of Space Marines.

The only exceptions being Starship Troopers (not a game, I know, I'm just making a point) because it's an intentional satire, and the ACTUAL Space Marines from Warhammer 40K, because they have dignity and honor, and don't act like pricks.
