Most UN-original game?

Good lord, the most UNoriginal game? Such a list could go on for all eternity. Nothing is truly original anymore, it's just not possible.

any football game. they are all the same, all you do is run around kicking a ball. if you want to play football, go and play football.

Little do you care to realize, actual football players are the only people who play football games. Though all the games are, indeed, exactly the same, because they don't even have varying levels like a generic platformer or something would have.

I'm going to say 3:

- Any WW2 game (killing Nazis, yeah, I'm bored of that now)
- Any modern day FPS (killing terrorists, yeah, bored of that too)
- Warhammer Online. They even stole the website name from WoW. (www.wow-europe.com and www.war-europe.com)

I hope that is a joke because without Warhammer there would be no WoW or even Warcraft for that matter. Blizzard has openly admitted Starcraft and Warcraft rip off the Warhammer universe with reckless abandon. In fact the first Warcraft game was supposed to be a Warhammer game but Games Workshop refused to give Blizzard the license.

The Zelda series. Same freaking characters every freaking time. You honestly feel like just shaking some sense into Link so he stops screwing around and just cuts Ganons freaking head off once and for all.

They're not the same characters. They're chosen people of various eras that happen to have the same name by destiny... or tradition. Well, for Link it's not necessarily the same name, since the player has control over that, but Zelda is a traditional name for princesses of Hyrule.

As for the cutting Ganon's head thing...

Not a flamebait. I gave a reason for why i thought the way i did. If it was flamebait, i would have just said "Halo Sucks" without any explanation.

I just watched that, and damn, that is fucking terrible.

One that really sticks out in my mind right now is CoD:WaW. It used every game mechanic from 4... on the same engine, the sprinting lasted exactly as long. There was very little effort put in to the class and perk system and most were copied ideas from 4, with the exception that they made last stand even cheaper now... And even through all that unoriginallity they still went ahead and used WWII because they apparently didn't want to ANY homework.

Alright, first Ill just clear this up. Sports games. Including Racing... and also Wrestling games, if you can lump that into a sports category.

Another thing, Warhammer came before warcraft. I played neither and know that...

Lastly, and this is just opinion and Observation. How do you see Mass Effect as being the most unoriginal game ever? I don't know too many Third person/Over the shoulder True Sci-fi(not horror) squad-based, RP Shooter games that are driven on by a pretty nice story, and heavily incorporate character development?

I really don't know many games like that myself. Also, I don't really play shooters much. Well, just wondering what makes that so incredibly cliche (cant remember how to spell it...) that it deserves the title of most unoriginal game. ^_^

I've heard people say that before, but I've never seen any evidence. And you do know that Warhammer comes from LotR right? So if Warcraft ripped anything off, it's that.

This entire gen of gaming pretty much, i havent seen anything truely original to come out of this generation, sure, there have been some small innovations but nothing major.

other than Bioshock,and some other 360 and xbox(not 360 the original xbox)games,everything has been done before. It's the EVIL corperation,Evil power hungry dictator or EVIL takeing over the world aliens.
Is that all the Ideas for games out there?
