well i havent seen a game with a sniper that can go invisable or a flying sentry bot or a tactiction guy and so on...........okay i agree the SP was (apart from the vehical level in the walking powersuit thing)but i ...wait wait no this game had a lightning gun with unlimited ammo and a bunch of new MP things okay u have proble played a game that has all that well i havent so if u have plz correct me

I'd like to see you give me three good reasons as to why not without mentioning the Japanese faction.

In all fairness, its a sequel, so it cant really be classed as "Unoriginal".

Why not? They even abandoned field harvesting for mines in warcraft style.
Also, do we really want to give EA any credit for ideas by Westwood(rest in peace).

But if anything, its the first RTS to be released onto the PS3, which kinda makes it original.

Maybe if it were the first RTS for a console, but it isn't.

Yea all those sports games where they just add another year to the name.
One sport game that kicks ass though, Mutant league football. God i used to play this for way too long into the night.

This entire gen of gaming pretty much, i havent seen anything truely original to come out of this generation, sure, there have been some small innovations but nothing major.

other than Bioshock,and some other 360 and xbox(not 360 the original xbox)games,everything has been done before. It's the EVIL corperation,Evil power hungry dictator or EVIL takeing over the world aliens.
Is that all the Ideas for games out there?

If your trying to portray sarcasm you kinda fail, seeing as you quite obviously didnt know about System Shock 2, and calling Bioshock the only original game is kinda redundant, its one of the better ones, yeah, but its not innovative at all.

I can just never seem to understand why someone would rather sit off and get fat playing sports games when they can do the real thing, especially considering there is not originality you can put into a football game- ITS ALREADY BEEN INVENTED.

I do not doubt Halo ONE was original. Halo 3 on the other hand, yeah pretty unoriginal.

halo wasnt original either, it just took WW2 games, put them in the future, and took vehicles from GTA and dropped em in there with a few guns attached

Yeah, because there was a Normandy on an area that wasn't from Earth, WW2 had super soldiers with regenerating shields, in Halo, everyone goes around having sex with "hoes" and "pimping out" their cars with purple and bling. If you are going to use a game which all games with vehicular combat ripped off, look at Terminator: Future Shock. And to the guy who said that Halo was all about aliens invading Earth, it may be surprising to you to find out that Earth is not even seen in the first game, and plays merely an inconsequential role in the other games. And when was the last time in a story where aliens attacked us because their leaders found out our existence invalidates their religion and portrayed us as deceivers in order to get the other aliens to attack them to cover up the fact that we were the descendants of the supposedly "divine and missing" race they worshiped?

In relation to the topic, however, every game is unoriginal in some way. Mirror's Edge ripped off parkour, Deus Ex ripped off every conspiracy theory about the government, etc.

Umm. EA showed first-person platforming with Mirror's Edge.
-Evolution with Spore.
-Taking care of a normal family or optionaly Batman in the Sims.

Granted, they are not "masterpiece", "excellent" or "great". However, you have to admit they did something.

I hate it as much as anyone else, but I don't think there were any shooters about very bad and stupid rappers. I'm pretty sure that's pretty original.

The bit with very bad shooters about very bad rappers was done in the first game, you could say that I should have just said sequels in general, but that at least they ad something new(normally). (Or do something old in a different way)

Hmmm lets see...

It had co-op single player (Original for a RTS)

It had an allied helicopter unit that used shrink and ice rays (I have never seen that in a RTS... and I hope I never will again)

Lastly it had.... had ... ? Oh the hub for the multiplayer was designed by a monkey (How many developers have monkeys on their design crew, now that?s original)


But in all seriousness yes Red Alert 3 was painfully unoriginal.
