The various crap in Fallout 3 like plates, knifes, cups, burnt books etc that had no use and couldn't be sold for anything worth the time to pick them up.

that gnome.
you know, the one you carry so far just to send into space for no good reason except for that dammed achievement.
truly in that it's not even effective when shot at enemies.
He's also in L4D2 just in case you want to totally piss off three of your friends by becoming a useless gnome carrier.

The jade hair ornament in Demon's Souls.

What the hell is that for?
Give it either to Shop Keeper Tom in the Nexus for a Herculean Ring: Item Burden Increase "Talk" to him leave an "Talk" again before leaving the Nexus for him to notice you have it, or
give it to the Crow http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps3/qna/954345.html?qid=117188
in world 4-1 the Shrine of Storms the link has a list of what else the Lil Crow takes.

The poison mushroom in Mario Bros. 2. It killed you when you touched it.

Also, the Thermal Vision ability in [PROTOTYPE]. Seriously, what is it for?

Those items in Oblivion like cups and forks and quills and stuff. I carry them with me everywhere and they serve no purpose other than to occupy space yet I horde them anyway because I am wierd.
A wierd Argonian who hordes absolutley useless things.

Also I've made hundreds of potions most of which are very similar to each other but of which have various silly names. Again this is pointless but I cannot stop doing it.

Health/Mana potions.

In many games, you just stand there to regain both, & the potions don't sell for much.

I also find 90% of the weapons & armor to be useless, as I always seem to find stuff of lower quality than what I already have equiped.

especially when your trying to train it into a gyrados and your too lazy to keep switching pokemon so you use up all of its splash and it runs out of moves so it can finally do a little damage itself so that it can get all the experience.. and then finally it gets tackle I think. pain in the behind

That staff Sheogaroth gives you in that Deadra shrine quest in Oblivion.

What can you gain from a magic staff that turns victums into even stronger monsters?

The lantern from Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.

this thing can light flammable light sources, that's just about it.

Time for a little ironic Fallout humor: The GECK

You cannot ever use the GECK and establish your own awesomely-restored piece of land EVER in any Fallout game. And while I know I'm only putting this in for laughs, the idea that even a super-genius in the games can't use the device is really freakin' odd.
