Cheese.

Why is cheese so important and why do skeletons carry it?.
This reminds me of 'Dark Cloud.' for the Ps2.
I'll say the weapon you get first in many combat games, then you find a better one, then you'll never use the first one again.

This is why weapon condition and Ammo are in some games.

The Telescope from Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. You use it ONCE to look at a monster to trigger a cutscene and you never use it again. All it does is let you look at things from far away!

"Crumpled Piece of Paper" in Oblivion.

EDIT: Maybe it's not entirely useless: you can throw it away.
No, parchment was the worst, it was blank, why the hell did it give you the option to read it?
Also, all the item in that game that had a value of 0.

In any rpg, I never use the reviving item (phoenix plume in Final Fantasy, max revive in Pokemon), I awlays keep them at full health and never go into a battle under powered.

The jade hair ornament in Demon's Souls.

What the hell is that for?
You can trade it to the crow for a fragrant ring.

You can also trade the Brass Telescope for a Ring of Regeneration.

The submachinegun in Resident Evil 4.
Are you kidding? I love the SMG in RE4. Get the stock, upgrade it get, 200-300 bullets and then it's game time!
agreed upgraded the smg in that game is probably the best since the ammo is faily pleantyfull but not so much as to clog inventory. and i think has dmg of 1.2 when upgraded and a large clip size, good for takin out bosses or large swarms of zombies. probably the gun i used most in that game and now im gunna go play it again

The Fork of Horrapilation in Oblivion. That was the weakest weapon in the game that I found.
