Don't worry, you're not alone. As much as I like and respect Edward Norton, I was pissed off when he replaced Eric.

The remake of Solaris with George Clooney is one of my favourite films, but I know of few people that like it.
I did not understand that film in the slightest. Fair enough if you want me to interpret something, but I can't interpret every single moment. Do they even say what Solaris is?

Maybe I just shut off when they were explaining stuff.
It's not really directly stated, but Solaris is the planet that you see throughout the film, the station that the film takes place on is in orbit around it, studying it.
I got that, but I mean like, how does a planet or a gas cloud or a whatever-the-fuck-it-is create clones of dead people?

I have no problems seeing the layers in things, but that film is just SO ambiguous.
Yeah, I see your point. The reasons for how Solaris can do what it's doing and what it actually is are left unexplained, but I think I prefer it that way.
There's are allusions towards it being a sentient being, maybe even some kind of creator, but nothing is ever confirmed.

I thought the Hitman movie and Wolverine movies were both awesome a fuck, barely anyone else does though.

A good few of the movies mentioned here are well like. The only people who don't like A Clockwork Orange are people who have never seen it. Same goes for a lot of movies really.

I think The Fountain is amazing, and I've never met anyone in real life who agrees with me.

Batman Forever
That movie is bad and you should feel bad.

Funny story: my opinion of a coworker flipped 180 degrees the moment she said she liked Batman Forever. It was like finding out her aesthetic sense had a fucking tail.

Saw is a horror classic. Well at least the first one

Also Uwe Boll's new movie, Rampage is surprisingly a entertaining and well made movie. I know, right?

EDIT: Also The Phantom Menance was a fun movie. Also the last prequel Star Wars was even better.

Spider-Man3, granted the romantic sub plot got tedious, but I liked the film otherwise, I have no clue why people are whining about there being too many villains, there's an awesome fight scene with the four of them at the end which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I can't get anyone in my family to watch Blade Runner, witch is a shame because it's one of my all time favorite movies.

The one with the computer virus-thingy? :D
If it is that, I loved that and I've got the VHS somewhere in the attic.

EDIT: Joe Dirt and Undercover Brother. How could you simply not love Joe Dirt? It's an amazing movie.

A little hint, if a movie has more than 7.0 on imdb or metacritic, you can hardly say "most others hate" it.

While I don't think it's all that great, I certainly don't hate it and I know quite a few people who like that movie very much.

The explanation is simple: everyone you know has very bad taste.

Beverly Hills Cop 1 through 3.

Whenever I mention it, either people have never heard of it, or hate it.
Well at least the first one was very good

I don't think I've ever met a single (male) person that didn't like anything made by Monty Python

With this, I agree. I never understood why it was hated on so much. The same thing with the Punisher movie with Thomas Jane. And the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, certainly not as annoying as the Temple of Doom.

I like Terminator 3.

I like the fact that it makes me think about how I 'care' for a T-800...
Of course it hangs on Terminator 2's coat tails to achieve this.

Terminator 4 however... was enjoyable but I was very annoyed that the weakest character was John. Bale played the role by shouting whereas everyone else put in a good performance.

EDIT: Also Arnie is cool.

I'll tell you another one - Speed Racer.
Everyone hated it, but when I finally got around to watching I thought it was great. I don't see the problem with it.
Seeing that movie in IMAX was the most insane thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

I also love Paul Blart Mall Cop and I have an enormous poster in my room of it.

M. Night Shyamalan movies. I still enjoy all his works. Everyone hates his last 4 films, but I've enjoyed each movie he's made thus far (Haven't seen The Last Airbender, yet).
