I'm American. There's more good music than I can shake a stick at. (Or have time to listen to)
Care to provide an example...

Maybe something that might not escape your borders otherwise... In other words, a less popular band you think is good... I did it for my country, I came up with 4! America can definitely top Canada right? Bring it on!!!

Just to counter all of the inevitable rock and metal (although I do really like this song, and I know it'll annoy plenty of you):

Nope, that's immense. Not my usual cup of Earl Grey but I could listen to it all day.

As for my suggestions... well, I'm British, the list could be endless so I'll restrict it to stuff from my region.

Guess I'll add something in swedish..

Translation: "Hello.. This is a bird. Come take a look. This is a bird.. bird, bird, bird ,bird, bird, bird, bird, bird.. Bird, you have a bird here, it's dangerous!"
Welcome to the Escapist!
OT:Hmmmm....
(ok weird video I know but the music is great)
That's who I listen to in those genres, or the best examples thereof.
you are my favorite person I love offsprings and trivium
O.T. you know being American it's pretty redundant to put something up not saying that we're all good just that most metal bands from america are extremely popular but hey just for the hell of it

For some bizarre reason this came to mind almost immediately, behind 'Rule Britannia' and 'God save the Queen'.

Well, being American, the only thing I can think of that we really pioneered was Jazz, and to a slight extent, rocknroll.
Unfortunately, nobody seems to care about Jazz anymore, and any RocknRoll achievements are mostly obscured by much better foreign stuff.
(But we did make jazz...)
