Oh cool!

A "I hate rap/hip-hop, but I'll say I like the early stuff so I don't look ignorant" thread.

Haven't seen one of them in a while.

So much hate for country... :(

I happen to like country music (strange for a Brit) and I reckon it's just as valid as other genres, as long as you listen to the real country musicians, not the pop country shit that I suspect many of you may be used to hearing (people such as Kid Rock, Billy Ray Cyrus)

That kind of stuff is just fucking weak, diluted music, which has zero appeal because it just isn't what it claims to be.

To be honest, I don't hate any particular genre, I just hate certain musicians/bands. I can really get into rap if I'm in the right mood, but some rappers are just utter wank. Same applies to every genre ever...

Prog rock, prog metal, technical metal, most metal in fact. I can dig abit of thrash and power metal but that's about it.

Anything from Disney and really most all top 40 music today like Avril Laveign or what ever, the Jonas Brothers, miley cyrus, Fall Out Boy, and pretty much everything like that.

I'm tempted to say Hip-Hop, but I can find redeeming artists and bands like Roots or Tech N9ne.

I can't say I hate any one genre because you can always find redeeming songs buried in there somewhere.

On topic: I've never really liked 'MC' or 'Hardcore rave Club music' or that crap the chav's like. I've also never been able to get into some of todays mainstream rock. I've just never been able to sit and listen to it.

I actually like rap, at least from the 90s. But my most hated music genre would have to be indie rock. I just never saw the appeal of it.

I can't stand Rap (Retards Attempting Poetry), Post Rock (Ever heard of it... Didn't think so.), and most definitely Corey Smith (What ever genre that is).
There was a thread just yesterday about how you are wrong.
when you are talking about peoples opinions, no answer is "wrong".
I was not suggesting that his opinion was wrong, merely incorrectly articulated.

"I have yet to hear a rap song that I enjoy" or "I dislike all of the rap I have heard" would be more appropriate.

he may have poorly articulated what he meant, but being that opinions are based entirely on ones own beliefs and ideas, its not really possible for one to be "wrong". and you stated that he was. Stupid, closed minded, and ignorant or intolerant, but not wrong.

The ones that only exist in the minds of the various morons of the world, Country, and Rap. Metalcore is not a genre, you complete *CENSORED*...

I do, however, love Metal, Techno, and Hard Rock.

Current rap, hip-hop and pop. Really, the new rap and hip-hop are just pop... formulaic beats with meaningless lyrics. Ugh. I can't stand it. And then the vocoder!

I liked the old stuff, it's what I grew up with... but I can't listen to the radio anymore.

Country post Johnny Cash era when it had an actual message, Rap after the 90's when it stopped telling any story beyond "I have money, women, things bought with said money, and illegal stuff done for and bought with said money, fucking love me for it", Techno it just sounds the same to me, and anything bubblegum or christian (nothing against christians or christian music I just don't like it, anyone who is over 12 and/or male and likes anything bubblegum needs to kill themselves).

The crappy pop and rock thats played on the radio these days is just terrible. It seems that rock has just become a slightly more aggresive pop :(

I love a lot of Hip-Hop, and some rap I like, but theres a lot of gangsta crap out there that is just shouting with no melody at all.
