Screamo/death metal I really dont get it to me the lyrics seem pathetic and the sound its like listening to a pig choking on a pipe cleaner, even the instrumentals suck bleh. That and country yet to hear anything compelling that isnt a slow dronefest about cowboys/fields/drinking yawn.

Never ever use Screamo and Death Metal together as one style, they are utterly different.

OT: What's the point in making a thread designed with hate in mind, this seems like a flame war waiting to happen to me.

I hate rap from the last fifteen years or so (further back is a bit more acceptable).
This. I do happen to like some Beastie Boys songs, but most other rap/ hip hop songs set off my gag reflex.

I don't mind rap in the literal sense (you know, the good old days); once you get synthesizers and other crappy peripherals/ remixes, then it's all shot to hell.
Yeah, Run DMC, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, all of them from the 80s and early 90s were alright. It's like Chris Rock said, it was easy to defend them on an intellectual level, but it's hard to defend today's rap when the lyrics are like "I've got hoes in different area codes."

I agree for screamo and a fair bit of death metal, although when you get past the vocals in some of the good death metal, you would be surprised at the musicianship.
Example? Opeth.
It's true there's a lot of rubbish death metal out there but if you want to generalise under that context then, realistically, you'd have to say that every genre that has rubbish bands in it must also suck.
Don't pigeon hole a whole genre just because you've heard some bands that suck. Some bands (like Opeth) are incredible and I can guarantee that 1 member of Opeth would have more musical talent in their left hand than an entire band you hear on the radio nowadays.

In regards to the OP, i'm very musically eclectic. I can probably name a band I like for any genre.
Seeing as the general hate here leans towards Country and Rap I'll cover those 2:-

Country - Bruce Springsteen, Dustin Kensrue, Ryan Adams
Rap - UNKLE (earlier stuff), Hermitude (more hip-hop), Eminem

I think every genre has something compelling to offer and you should always hold your judgement until you can be sure. Bastardising an entire genre before you've heard what it has to offer in its entirety is straight out ignorance//narrow-mindedness.
Are you replying to me, or the person I qouted. Because I agree wholeheartedly with you, and meant only that I knew the sterotype of death metal being bad is false. It is true every genre has something for you... although some genres, you must dig WAY deeper to find the stuff you will enjoy.

I was kinda ringing-in and backing you up at the same time lol.
That's very true though, some genres require a bit of work until you get into them. That being said, the only Jazz I can seem to tolerate is Richard Cheese, that's something I've gotta work on methinks

Rap and country. I don't really see the appeal of techno either, but I don't hate it.

And now that you guys have reminded me, DEATH TO THE JONAS BROTHERS.

Can't stand country or anything Disney supports. Although I love heavy metal, I can't stand strait screaming all the way through the whole song. I also hate rap with a passion.

This is the only rapper I ever liked: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpmLP0CeVrU

Thrash and Death Metal (Slipnot suck), Gangster rap (anything talking about cars, bling, guns, shooting other people with said guns, and treating girls like f4*k sticks isn't worth listening to), Can't stand Morrisy he was better with the Smiths (greedy sod killed that band though), and the only track I liked was "What time is now".

I'm pretty flexible on almost anything else, I hate trance, especially Euro trance (when one track sounds the same as the other 37 on the CD), but I openly love the Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim, and some of the Prodigy stuff.

I hate rap cause it always seem to me that it's all about having money, shooting people, and banging hoes...not all of it but a pretty good chunk of it.

I HATE bluegrass(or an other music the features a banjo)...country is fine for the most part.

Another thing I HATE with a buring passion is all of this tiny bop, bubblegum, Disneyfied pop shit...it needs to go far far away.

And last but not least all this emo screaming wannabee deathmetal.

Im sorry, but this post made my eyes bleed.

On topic: I've never really liked 'MC' or 'Hardcore rave Club music' or that crap the chav's like. I've also never been able to get into some of todays mainstream rock. I've just never been able to sit and listen to it.

Gangsta rap and anything remotely connected to the subculture, most overly sweet sentimental songs (there are exceptions, for example Untouched by The Veronicas is currently one of my favourite songs on the radio station I listen to), hardcore/hardstyle/bullshit.
