Example? Opeth.
Don't pigeon hole a whole genre just because you've heard some bands that suck. Some bands (like Opeth) are incredible and I can guarantee that 1 member of Opeth would have more musical talent in their left hand than an entire band you hear on the radio nowadays.
In regards to the OP, i'm very musically eclectic. I can probably name a band I like for any genre.
Seeing as the general hate here leans towards Country and Rap I'll cover those 2:-
Country - Bruce Springsteen, Dustin Kensrue, Ryan Adams
Rap - UNKLE (earlier stuff), Hermitude (more hip-hop), Eminem
I think every genre has something compelling to offer and you should always hold your judgement until you can be sure. Bastardising an entire genre before you've heard what it has to offer in its entirety is straight out ignorance//narrow-mindedness.
when you are talking about peoples opinions, no answer is "wrong".CIA said:Dinosaur Jr.Fanusc101 said:I actually like rap, at least from the 90s. But my most hated music genre would have to be indie rock. I just never saw the appeal of it.

There was a thread just yesterday about how you are wrong.gremily said:I can't stand Rap (Retards Attempting Poetry), Post Rock (Ever heard of it... Didn't think so.), and most definitely Corey Smith (What ever genre that is).

Disney? hahaha that's awesome.Thy-Art-Is-Awesome said:Techno, R&B, Rap, Disney, Pop....anything on the radio.
I ment rock... or whatever, Fuck dude, I don't know. It's 3:03 in the morning. Nadlice said:Yeah, you get some melodeath (melodic death metal) bands which are pretty good, like In Flames, or Dark Tranquillity, since they're pretty tame insofar as death metal goes, and are a good starting point for trying to listen to the genre.TriggerUnhappy said:I agree for screamo and a fair bit of death metal, although when you get past the vocals in some of the good death metal, you would be surprised at the musicianship.Nmil-ek said:Screamo/death metal I really dont get it to me the lyrics seem pathetic and the sound its like listening to a pig choking on a pipe cleaner, even the instrumentals suck bleh. Personally, I don't enjoy hip-hop or dance, including any derivatives of those two. Country I can live with, but I don't enjoy it, and the same goes for Jazz and Blues.
