I like all music, but some genres of sound contain less music than others, and some can hardly be called music at all
Degrading a musical style won't make it any less music than you would want to.

I hate most metal (Red Warszawa [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bW6SDEelRxQ] for life, but they are the exception), most opera and all kids singing about equally. The kids are annoying and metal and opera just sucks.

Death Metal. Honestly that is the only genre I can't stand at all. Granted there are other music genres I can say I'm not particularly fond of (Techno, rap, a lot of 90s pop and stuff like that) but I can usually find an exception to the rule. My taste in music is very broad. Yet I can't think of a single death metal band I like. In truth I would never listen to them outside of the show, but I guess you can say I sort of like Deathclok from Metalocalypse; but that's more for the comedy on the show even though their exaggerated stage shows and stuff make me laugh.

The only music I cannot, for my life, enjoy is the heavier kinds of metal such as deathcore, grindcore, brutalgore. Basically anything that involves growling and brutalizing the instruments involved. Oh, and anything involving screamo. Everything else I can more or less tolerate and even, sometimes, enjoy. Including rap and shallow mainstream pop.

I'm deeply uncomftorable with the normalisation/legitimisation of misogoyny and homophobia in music (yes mainly "rap" in my experience) and that racism is a no go area (not that I condone racism I just dislike the hypocricy or implication one is worse and that is that and doesn't warrant discussion).

I have heard the cultural relativism argument (its part of person "x" or "y"'s culture, to which I feel no, that is just a dangerous oversimplification and legitimising process which perpetuates hate.

The musician (in the case of rap) is discussing the fictional acts of a character. I don't feel this is made clear enough, specifically in my experience when a number of fans don't see this. Should a musician be held responsible for their fans? I don't know. Are their a lot of cretins who take it all literaly and perpetuate hateful ideas? Yes.

While I am aware rap is not the only culprit (and of course it is not all rap music) I believe no genre is so imbedded within the mainstream as rap.

I don't really "hate" any genre. I think there is good music in just about every genre of music, and I have nothing but respect for people who write and sing their own songs. Even if the genre is not in my prefered taste.
However there is one thing I really can't stand, and that is Boy/Girlbands. I can't stand what they represent, and I really don't count that as a genre of music either. To me it's just goodlooking people doing commercials to music.

EDIT: also, I'm going to go out on a limb here and tell everyone that I like rap. Not rap in general. God No! But rap that is actually about stuff, and not just how many "bitches" you have and how big your house is and what car you drive.

Rap, it's just vile, i like the odd song but most sound identical, they all talk about the same thing and dare i say they are all sang with the same voice, i dislike it with a passion, i'm not to fond of metal either, but then my ears are shot from loud music and gaming :p

Anything my brother listens to. He's like a proto-hipster, but instead of shitty music no-one has heard of, he listens to shitty hiphop and pop music.

RnB/Hip-hop since it has to be the only genre that I can't think of a single good song from. I mean rap at least has one or two ofEminem's original material and Weird Al's parady raps.

cannot stand Deathcore as it is a discrase to all the other genres of metal, it is so simple to play compared to other genres of metal and all the bands sound the same, take bring me the horizon for an example they cannot write a good song, the guitars and bass are terrible and their fans annoy me so much because they think listening to them is "hardcore", also pretty much anything with core in the name other than Grindcore cause it just seems to be a scene kid territory, although i dont mind Killswitch Engage

Mainstream Pop, Rap and Death Metal. I like being able to hear what's being sung, and I can't stand those stupid Hypocritic song-writers who sing songs about being high or drunk or killing people and then talk a whole load of shit about how it's not to be taken literally.

I do like metal and rap, but it tends to be by artists who originate around the 70's/80's eg. Sugar Hill Gang for rap or Iron Maiden for metal. Prog Rock/Metal is my favourite genre.

None. While I mostly stick with Industrial Metal, and Melo-Death, I listen to a good bit of everything.

R&B/hiphop and new age rap where all they ever rap about is how much money they have and how many hoes they got.
