Nothing works - as a parent I can guarantee that, it comes with the territory - and age doesn't matter either, you can be 35 and your parents will still be doting on you and trying to keep anything bad from happening to you. It's built in.

I only want to hide it because my parents are very over-protective and they'll immediately think that a hickie means I have an STD >_<

go camping faroff from any civlization for a few days or a week

get into racing cars

buy a Motorbike

or you could just do the old fashion distance yourself from them

Difficult to distance yourself from people you share a house with.

Attempt to show to them the various merits and address the concerns of whatever it is that you are in dispute over. If any more concerns pop up, cut them down with logic and reason. If that doesn't work, nothing will; your best bet would be to just do x or y whilst lying - i.e. go to Party x while claiming to be going to the cinema with Co-Partygoer d, and synchronise stories if the situation arises where you are asked.
