Anthony was shocked to see Eryn transforming at will, "Well its good to see you too Eryn," he said, smiling despite the situation they were in. He quickly looked as Michael broke into a cabinet, "Grab what you can and let's go," he grabbed the radio to call in the last team, "Alright meet us at the extraction point we don't have much time to delay!"

Eryn made Anthony let go of her and then turned to Wesley. "I'm sorry Wesley, but that I had to kill him. I would have tortured him longer but he died after I ripped open his jugular." Eryn turned to face what was left of the doctor, a small smile on her lips.

"It was a lot of fun though. He was the first person I've killed in two years."

Wes couldn't help but grin at Eryn's sadism. It was the same thing he would have said had he gotten there first. He looked down at the body with a feeling of retribution. "I bet it was fun."

Anthony urged them to leave and the room began to clear. Wes raised his weapon and went out behind the group.

"Then I hope you took great pleasure in it." Burst said to Eryn, leading the Draugr and Arashei out of the compound and towards the others. "Our mission was a success, General."

Burst began to follow the other Mythos away from the scene.

The outside of the compound was chaos. Bodies lay strewn all over the grounds, both human and Mythos. The group moved quickly, trying their best not to attract too much attention. They stepped onto the grounds and were immediately driven into cover by a hailstorm of gunfire. The soldiers were dug in hard and were not about to driven out by the few members of the group with guns. Anthony knew what he had to do. Stretching out, the great grey wings burst from his back, spraying feathers around the area. Flapping the powerful wings he flew into the air flying over the cover. The soldiers began to switch to Satan's Bane coated bullets, just as he opened fire on the bunker peppering the area with rounds. Returning fire began soon, though with considerably less fever than that had been there before. He continued to draw the fire away from the rest of the group as they were able to flank the bunker.

He was forced to land when a bullet punched his shoulder and caused him to wince with pain, Well its a good thing I'm part angel now, he thought grimly, landing and continuing to fire upon the bunker.

Michael noticed a big antenna had been caught in an explosion and was being held up by the support cable alone.

Grenades maybe? No, they must have been using a launcher to make this dent
He thought to himself as he inspected the impact area.

After little concideration, he vaulted over some shattered bricks and concrete and pulled on the support cable.
A few seconds later, it snapped and Michael managed to swing the antenna aimlessly around.

As it crashed into the building they had just escaped from, he quickly pulled it out with all his strength, sending it tumbling onto their cover.

The soldiers seized fire and jumped for cover. The sand from their sandbags sprayed the area and a few were actually hit by the thing.

Michael turned his head and ran to the group. "Alright, not sure I'm quite useful in ranged combat, so I'll sit this one out for now. I'll stay back here and keep guard of reinforcements"

Michael vaulted over some more wreckage and crouched.
"Help the General, go!"

"I guess that's my cue," Justin shouted to Michael, shrugging his shoulders to shake the medic bag on his back. Firing a few shots at the soldiers, he rushed in the General's direction for a few seconds, diving behind cover as the bullets flew past him. Momentarily suppressed, he waited for the fire to lessen before shooting back and then he sprinted the last little distance to where the General was taking cover.

"How bad is it, and what are you, exactly? Don't want to use the wrong supplies, some of this stuff kills what it's not meant to heal."

Wes laid down on his side and leaned out from cover, firing wildly at the bunker. He wasn't even close to being accurate, but by his reasoning it was helping to cover Justin and Anthony. Fill the air with bullets.

Michael felt useless, watching his brothers get suppressed more and more by a neverending hail of bullets.

Maybe this can help
He thought to himself as he clumbsily picked up a sub-machine gun off the ground. The clip was almost full and the soldier who lay besides it was long dead.

"What do I pre-"
Michael began to say, when he accidentally fired the gun and shot down some bushes and trees.
"Right!..."
He aimed the gun as well as he could, firing aimlessly at the bunker. Even though his bullets wizzed past the armored house, some of then hit the walls and actually one or two made it inside.

I don't think I'm helping

Anthony felt where the bullet had pierced his shoulder, he felt the cool essence pour out and cover his hand. Justin had ran up beside him with a medical kit, but Anthony waved off his help, "There isn't going to be anything in there for me," he said with a grimace and instead pulled out a knife. He tried to pry the bullet out while the others laid down cover fire.

Soon the bullet was out and he returned to the fight, though only able to use one of his arms for the time being. He noticed that the bullets were growing fewer, though his own supplies were in danger of running out as well. He saw the transport in the distance, quickly approaching, they didn't have much time. He radioed the transport to keep its distance, but called them to bring his sword. Soon a Shade, flitting between visibility and vanishing brought the sword, which Anthony grasped in one hand. It felt good to have his real weapon back and he ran at the bunker, the powerful holy sword slashing through stone and concrete.

The group ran past the destruction and began loading onto the transport. More guards were emerging with heavier weaponry and the transport took off, leaving the compound and two years of bad memories.

Eryn sat in the transport, staring intently at the floor. After two years she had finally left that wretched place. She felt relieved, but for the most part nothing had really changed. She was still an angry, blood thirsty, half-human, half-werewolf, freak who was now running from people who wanted to kill her.

I think I should have just stayed in the compound. She thought to herself sarcastically.

Azure sat in a seat near the back of the transport, with a sword beside him, his sword, he'd left it behind as it was of no use in corriddors and hallways, the full blade stood just over 4 feet high beside his seat in a silver scabbard, it was too long for narrow spaces.

he sat silently, eyes closed in thought, he thought about the day so long ago, where they had died, his clan, his family, pictures flickered in his head, showing yet again the corpse in the moonlight, then a voice spoke, one that he had heard only once before, on that night.

you wanted more... didn't you? you wanted to kill so many more, for what they have done to you

'you... why are you here, inside my head?' Azure thought

you know why, that night they tore you, they tore your mind, your sanity, you may be in control now, but not forever, i'm the one you will need in the end, to satisfy your lust for revenge.

'what do you mean?' but the voice was silent, Azure opened his eyes, staring at the floor, he dismissed the event as his imagination playing tricks, but it still lingered slightly, he closed his eyes again and began to clear his mind, focusing on nothing but his own heartbeat.

Wes looked around at the group. I wonder what happened to the old group... he thought absently, thinking of the various Mythos he had known before his capture. It had been long enough though, that he wouldn't be overly upset or surprised if he heard they were dead.

Finally his gaze fell upon Anthony. For so long Wesley had believed he was dead, from the rumors among the staff that one of their group had been killed. He also heard of the grief caused by Eryn and the haunting stories about Rolf, so he put the pieces together. But now only one question came to his mind, and it wasn't how he survived.

"Why now?" he asked Anthony, point-blank. "Of all the times, why did you come now?"

Anthony looked at the tortured face of Wes, the pain he had endured for two years. He could see the resentment, the almost jealousy that had been embedded in his mind as soon as he saw a living memory of freedom. He couldn't give the real reason it had taken so long, why he had never returned sooner, "I was wiped from the Earth Wesley," he started, "Gone and dead for all intents and purposes. I don't know why I'm back, don't know how I'm back, but I awoke one year to the day after the attack. I returned to the Blackjacks to find them in ruin, the world's Mythos reduced to a handful."

He began wrapping the wound on his shoulder, "I spent the last year trying to find out where they put you and how I would get you out."

"Thank you for getting me out." Eryn told Anthony. "That place was worse than hell. The test they did were.. horrible. They treated us like animals and kept us caged up all day. The only time we were let out was when they needed to run a test on us. Everyone there was a monster."

Eryn sat a little straighter. "You said that the Mythos numbers have been dwindling.. How low are our numbers exactly?"

Michael shifted in his seat and took off his black fedora.
"Too little"
He simply said, twirling his headwear around and placing it on his lap.

But there's not just the humans that are ereasing us
Michael thought to himself and staggered some of the words accidentally. Lower than a whisper, he realized what he had said. It wouldn't make any sense to anyone, so he looked between the faces, making sure no-one had heard him.

He didn't want them thinking he was a looney.

Justin let the group catch up as he checked his ammunition supplies. His special, Mythos-killing bullets were unused, but his AP rounds were down to two extra magazines. In a pinch, the special rounds would work on humans, as anything solid going at thousands of feet per second would do crippling damage. Clearing his rifle, he did a quick function check and inspected for any damage from the fighting.

Rolf sat in the back of the transport, slowly reverting to his human shape, one that had been unused for so long. He folded his hands in front of his face, and sat there alone in thought as the other rambled on.

'It's good that they are alive, and Anthony as well. But...'

Finally he spoke, "Anthony... Do you know... How to track items leaving the compound?"

Anthony looked at the charts that had been taken from the compound, "Silver Tests? Mutilation and other such atrocities?" he rubbed the bridge of his nose, "I only wish I could have gotten you out sooner, your pain brings pain to me, though I did notice you gained some control over your transformations Eryn. That's good, I was worried at first you were going to be a loose cannon, now instead you are simply a force to be reckoned with."

He continued to flip through the charts, "I'm sorry Wes," he said putting the charts down, "It seems that the doctor didn't put any notes in about that new piece of jewelry you have in your ear," he closed his eyes, "We'll find a way though, somehow we'll get that thing off of you. You will have your powers again."

Finally he turned to Rolf, "They took your sword didn't they? Rolf I can't say where they have brought that, we can investigate it once we're in the base area," the transport brought them to what seemed like a mountain, "They had you at the Rocky Mountain Research facility in Alaska, a nice isolated spot that they could keep you in without anywhere to run for miles," a platform opened and the truck drove into the hole it created, "Luckily we built a base near by. It isn't the main base, but we're not done here in the north yet. We have one more objective, but we'll worry about that tomorrow."

The truck stopped and let the Mythoi leave the truck, "Your beds are in the chamber on your left. Each room has a bath with hot water as well as your basic toiletries. You can wash and meet me for your first meal as Blackjack's special ops in about an hour and a half. Any questions, my room is near yours, I like to stay close to my troops," Anthony walked off to his room and prepared to draw a bath. After the blood he spilled today and the crimes he realized he had almost allowed while he waited to rescue, gave him enough reason to want to wash away his sins.

Grabbing his gear, Justin walked up and down the hall before finding the smallest room and claiming it. Once inside, he threw his rifle and pack on the bed and began removing his gear. Noticing how dirty it all was, he carefully scraped off what dirt he could, careful to keep it in the bathroom where he could easily clean it up.

After he'd gotten most of the mess out, he neatly stacked his gear beside the bed, where he sat down and began disassembling his rifle. It had the usual grime that came from use, so he knew to clean it off before any of it caked on, and he considered the base an area of relative safety.

"You killed other humans, you know," he said to himself. "Strange how you don't feel bad about it, huh? Well, you heard what tests they did. They all deserved it. Even if you didn't like it, it's too late to turn back now. There's sure to be security footage, so you're either dead or a traitor." Sitting in silence, he finished cleaning the weapon and quickly reassembled it, loading a magazine and chambering the first round.
