Ms. Hoover was quickly and quietly being transported to a safer location farther inside the building. They couldn't risk taking her outside. Shots were being fired and they didn't want her to get caught in the crossfire. If she was in a secure room they could monitor who was going in and out.

"Please, Ms. Hoover, come this way. Please don't worry. The room that we are taking you to has everything to protect you against Mythos. From silver to whatever else those monsters can't handle. We also have security posted outside and inside, both teams are equipped with Anti-Mythos weapons as well. Stay here until we come back and get you."

The security officer lead Ms. Hoover into the room, four other officers standing guard inside, while another four stood guard outside.

"This is absolutely ridiculous.." She muttered under her breath.
------

Eryn was beyond frustrated. Why couldn't anything ever be quick and simple for the group? It seemed like nothing ever went their way.

The only plus side to this entire mission is that she was able to locate her mother.. Ms. Hoover right away. Parents and their offspring often shared similar scents. This situation was no different. Ms. Hoover and Eryn smelled similar, only Ms. Hoover smelled more.. human-y.

"She's close. She's on the third floor. I'm not sure what room she's in though."

When the elevator closed, Wes shifted back to human form. He had a rather large bruise forming on the side of his face already. He bared his teeth a bit and rubbed his eye, then looked down at Anthony.

"Oh, fuck. Anthony." He muttered, crouching beside him. There seemed to be some ethereal substance flowing from his wounds. "You can't die again . . ." he said, not realizing the absurdity of the statement. His voice didn't sound emotional, even. Just regretful that the angel might not be able to aid in the mission.

"Third floor?" Justin asked, merely confirming the fact to himself. "That narrows it down. It shouldn't take too long to clear a single floor, as opposed to the whole damn building. But shouldn't they be evacuating her? Our VIP got attacked, we hauled ass. Got out of the kill zone."

Anthony stood up and coughed, a bit more of the clear substance spat out of his mouth, "I ain't ready to pass into the Void yet," he said as the elevator doors opened into the third floor. He limped out of the hallways examining his surroundings. He looked at Eryn to confirm where the smell was coming from. He also heard the rustling of feet on stairs, they were in pursuit, "Fuck," he muttered reaching for one of his SMGs. His left arm wasn't working properly and his working arm was shaking like mad.

He closed his eyes to feel the surroundings around him. He heard the door swing open and the small click of a grenade against the ground. It was too hollow to be a "pineapple grenade" had to be flashbang, "Look away!" he said before swinging his face away from the scene. A flash of white light and a small concussive force washed over them and time appeared to slow down as the men poured into the corridor. Anthony raised his SMG and fired, a look of pure anger on his face.

Hursley knew that the stairs were a death trap but they were under strict orders to take down the Mythos, no matter what the cost, so they had breached the room. He heard a call like the damned himself as he burst into the corridor and watched as his men were cut down around him by the synchronized fire of the Mythos group. The screams of pain and horror cut through his soul, more than any other war zone had before. The passion behind the Angel and his group's fight was amazing in its own regard, almost inspirational. He felt the solid thumps in his torso as bullets riddled through him. There was no pain, but his ability to breathe soon evaporated with his last breath.

He hit the ground gasping for air as the Angel limped towards him, he wanted to speak, ask him what happened next, but the words wouldn't pass his lips. The Angel's expression softened, as if he knew what the man was trying to ask, "Peace is what you will find," he said cryptically before levelling his gun to Jacob's head.

Jacob closed his eyes and heard the first chamber fire before he lost himself in the end of existence. He was with his Mother now.

Anthony looked back at the group and motioned for them to follow. They wound through the hallways allowing Eryn to lead the scent. She stopped short at one of the doorways, motioning the others to stop. There were men stationed in front of the door, heavily armed. Anthony was still struggling for breath, "Someone take those fuckers out so we can move on."

"Stand back..." Burst said to the squad. He took a few deep breaths, and spoke again. "You won't want to be hit by any of the splash."

He took another deep slow breath, and and charged the men standing guard in the room, his long, digitigrade legs pumping powerfully as he ran through the hall, wings held against the front of his body as an additional layer of protection from any bullets.

They began to fire their weapons at Burst, and some of the bullets struck his scales, leaving painful welts and abrasions along the scaled outside of his wings.
When he was within five meters of the guards, Burst unleashed a strong spray of flames, at close range, from the hydrogen sacs in his throat, the searing hot flames superheating the metal of the guns, and blistering the skin of the humans, who cried out in pain, before Burst ran them through with his blade

Burst stood, watching the humans' corpses for a moment, before flapping his wings forcefully, and extinguishing the flames and looking down at their blistered and charred faces.

"Let's hurry." Burst said to the other Mythos in the squad, motioning for them to advance.

"Would you want them to take her out of the building?" Eryn asked Justin. "If they moved then it'd be harder to find her. She's here, so let's just grab her and leave."

Eryn walked out of the elevator after Burst had dispatched the guards. She smelled the air, sifting through the different scents until she located her mother once again. "Come on, she's this way."

Stepping over the guards' corpses she ran down a long hallway, following the scent.

"Course not, but these guys are retards with machine guns," Justin answered, following her down the hall. A lone guard jumped out between him and Eryn, and immediately went for Justin's gun. He grabbed Justin's wrist, so Justin punched him in the face with his free hand and fired a shot. The guard kneed him in the stomach and made him fire another shot, forcing the slide to cut part of the guard's thumb. Justin used the window to break the guard's nose, then pushed him away after the two fired another bullet.

Justin tried to shoot the guard in the face, but he'd rushed up too quickly and managed to get his head just past the pistol. The shot went off right beside his left ear, likely deafening him, but the guard managed to shove him to the ground. As Justin fell, he fired the fifth bullet but pushed a latch up to lock the slide back, then pointed the weapon at the guard, who just laughed.

"Looks like you're out of bullets, kid," he taunted, reaching for his shoulder-held pistol. Justin pushed the latch down, chambering the last round in the magazine, and fired into the guard's face. Without a bullet to chamber, the slide stayed back as the guard fell to the ground, so Justin tossed it aside.

"Thanks for the gun, dude," Justin spat out, taking the full pistol and two extra magazines. "Hey, wait up!" he called out to Eryn, holding his stomach in pain.

Eryn quickly rounded a corner, only to get caught by the guards outside of Ms. Hoover's safe room. All four of them.

"Shit!" She exclaimed as one of the guards started to draw his gun. Before he could successfully pull out his gun, Eryn transformed and lunged at him, gripping his throat with her teeth and tearing his thyroid muscle from his neck.

The other guards had taken out their guns and shot at Eryn, hitting her in the shoulder and hind leg. The bullet holes burned and were bleeding profusely, they had shot her with silver.

Despite the pain Eryn continued to dispatch the other three guards, tearing them limb from limb, and enjoying the feeling. It was like hunting game.

Afterwards she transformed back into her human form, her clothing covered in the guards' blood. She waited for the others, holding her shoulder in pain. "Fuck. Silver burns."

Finally catching up to Eryn, Justin rushed around the corner with his pistol ready, still clenching his stomach as he heard her mention the silver.

"Oh damn, are they solid silver?" he asked as he began digging for a pair of tweezers. "The others can get the door open." Remembering the rest of the group, he was reminded that Anthony had been wounded. "Hey, General! You still alive back there?" he shouted, dodging the packaged needles to get out his titanium tweezers.

Rounding a corner, Wes saw the downed guards and Justin working on Eryn's wound. Disappointed, he looked at the door across from his teammates. Guards. Must be an important room.

"Is this where we're supposed to be?" Wes asked, looking at the door. There didn't appear to be any knob or access panel, or even any indication of how the door opened. Just a flat metal panel with a slot down the middle.

Without waiting for an answer, he gave the door a swift kick. It didn't budge, so he gave another. With a short growl, he shifted into a grizzly bear. His form crowded the hall a bit, but he was focused on getting the door open the only way he knew how. He pounded and gouged the door with his claws, feeling it flex a bit under his strength. Not as strong as it looks.

Anthony limped towards the door that Wes was pushing on, walking past Justin and his questions. He looked at Wes, "Break it."

Wes obliged, snapping the simple door quickly. Anthony walked in, just to see a heavier door, "Well at least they have a sense of humour," he muttered, motioning Burst to come and melt the door.

The fire worked well burning through the door slowly but surely.

On the other side, the guards could see the door slowly giving way. They had their weapons trained on the centre of the door. With a crash the door collapsed to the ground rattling loudly. The guards looked up to see a DragonKin in front of them. They were paralysed in shock as Anthony slowly walked into the room. He raised his pistol and shot each of the guards before training his weapon on Hoover, "Hello Ms. Hoover, I think its time for you to consider listening to the Mythos plight now."

"It can wait for now, Justin." Eryn motioned for the man to put away his tweezers. The bullets were slowing her down and were causing her an immense amount of pain, but they didn't have time any to waste.

"I'll be fine for a little bit. I'll let you fix me when we get out of here. I promise."

Eryn followed the others, her hurt leg causing her to limp. She entered the room in time to see Anthony shoot the guards and confront her 'mother'.
**
Ms. Hoover watched in horror as the guards were easily killed. They were supposed to protect her, keep her safe from anything and everyone. They failed miserably.

She stared at the beast in front of her, the disgust evident on her face. He spoke, she listened.

"Plight? There is no plight. We are exterminating you.. you beast! You don't deserve to live. The world would be a much better place if all of you were dead. Everything would be better.. Peaceful."

Eryn scoffed, leaning against the wall. "Because humans are so peaceful.."

"Don't you dare talk to me you disgusting werewolf!"

Wes squeezed through the door, not bothering to change form. He heard their target's speech, how misguided she was. Should hurt her.

Growling loud, he moved around Anthony and approached her from the side. He stopped at one side of her desk and bared his teeth menacingly.

"You know," Justin began, leaning against the wall, "it's people like you that give us humans a bad name. I always wondered why some humans are so fanatical about killing all the Mythos. Me? I don't care which they are, I just like killing bad people. So I got to thinking, and I think I finally found a theory: you're all afraid of not being on the top of the food chain anymore."

"You're afraid of having all your offices, committees, presidents, secretaries, but not having any of them be able to protect you from one of these guys. Your problem is you don't want people around who, if they wanted to, could take your power and your life away," he quickly snapped with his left hand, "just like that. It's just another dick-waving contest, isn't it? Well let me tell you from experience, it's a lot better to have these guys as friends than enemies."

"well said!" said Azure with obvious sarcasm. "but a disease is a disease, and a plague like humanity could never make friends with anyone, they just destroy and expand, oh yes, i forgot you were one of them, my bad." he turned away with a smile. "unfortunatly for the rest of us birdman here would rather we attempt the impossible, so curing the universe of you is out of the question." he said pointing at anthony with his free hand, he didn't even look at Ms. Hoover as he said it, he was preoccupied with taking apart a human corpse, how easily they came apart.

He frowned for a moment as he heard a familiar voice shouting from the back of his mind, under his breath he spoke; "now now azure, it's about time i had the front seat for a while." he shot a quick look at eryn, he knew she would've heard, but there was nothing they could do, he was in control and that wasn't going to change anytime soon, he had slept for far too long, he looked back and stabbed the corpse straight through the heart before walking away to keep lookout, he wanted more blood.

agressive time :)

"Ms. Hoover, can we maintain a semblance of decency here?" Anthony said curtly as his teammates appeared to get agitated, "You need to remember that like humans, not all Mythos are that accepting of your race. Of course in context this means more than your pitiful hatred."

He saw that Azure was beginning to become more violent and he made sure to keep an eye on him and his fist closed around one of his pistols. One of his arms still wasn't working, "Ms. Hoover, you humans are the effect of Mythos sin and for that I am sorry. It is not my apologies you need though, instead you need to heed my warning. You humans, and the Mythos must join forces to combat a larger force than half a population can hope to fight. You must join them in their plight or Earth will be destroyed by those your populations worship!"

"Did you expect to come in here and convince me to join your 'fight'?" Ms. Hoover said mockingly. "You come in here, showing your fangs and acting like maniacs, and you expect me to join you? Are you insane?"

Ms. Hoover took a hesitant step forward. Meanwhile, Eryn slouched further down the wall, clutching her shoulder

"She doesn't want to join. That much is obvious. Can we just get rid of her and move on?" Eryn said to the others.

"If we kill her now, we'll just be proving her point." Burst said to Eryn. "Our mission here is not to kill humans."

He shot Azure a dirty look and turned back to Eryn and Anthony.

"Ms. Hoover..." Burst said, his form shrinking and shifting into his human appearance. "You can continue to cling to your Xenophobia, but it will wind up killing you. What you humans have done to Mythos is like digging up the den of a snake. You rip the creature from its home, and then proceeded to poke it with a sharp stick. Then, when it defends itself, you become aggressive and violent, and proceed to kill it. If you had attacked us, this war would never have started, and the countless dead would not be so."

"Look, lady, it's not 'our' fight," Justin explained, motioning to the General's team, "it's 'our' fight." This time, he included Ms. Hoover in the group. "When angels and demons come pouring out of wherever and turn Earth into a warzone, the last people we'll need to fight is each other. If you really, truly give a damn about humans, then you'll at least consider teaming up with these guys." He began twirling his tweezers around in his left hand, looking over at Eryn.

"Want me to get those out yet?"

The new aggresive Azure responded to Bursts look with a grin before speaking to the negotiating party, "you know, if that doesn't float your boat then how about this; you talk with your leaders about a temporary truce to dispose of those that'd interfere in our war, then afterwards the carnage can begin, that way we're all happy, you get to keep hating us, the invaders get killed and the mythos get to wipe you out afterward, see? a win-win situation, but at the very least decide quickly, i'm getting bored here, at least downstairs was interesting."
