"Enough!" Anthony snapped at Azure, "Hostility is only a means, not an end upon itself."

He walked around the room, removing his gun from sighting Ms. Hoover. His arms were feeling heavy, he had to get his wounds tended too before he bled out, "Ms. Hoover, what my human compatriot says is true. Heaven and Hell are coming. You can call it the Apocolypse, you can call it Rapture, you can call it whatever you want, but it doesn't change the fact that it is coming."

He turned to her from staring out the window. I appeal to you one more time, join and help us unify Earth because if not; our separate halves win be killed, purged from this world and Mythos and Humans will cease to exist."

"Yeah, I'd really appreciate it." Eryn told Justin. She gave a halfhearted smile and slid all the way down the wall, flinching slightly as she stretched her hurt leg.

"Those silver bullets hurt like hell."
**
Ms. Hoover stood strong as the others spoke. They were animals and they could sense fear. She was not going to allow them to scare her. She ignored the others, only willing to listen to their 'leader'.

After hearing Anthony speak she considered her options. She hated Mythos, that much was obvious, but she didn't want the entire world to be destroyed.

"So if I don't help you.. monsters.. everyone will be killed?" She took a deep breath in and sighed. "As much as I despise your kind it seems like I have no other choice but to help you."

Besides, after everything is fixed I'm sure we can still get rid of them.

Azure sighed, he was by far dissappointed in the human, any normal person would be cautious enough to try and determine wether it was even true, but then again either way would make little difference as it was the same on their end, they had only the angel's word to go on and as much as he despised angels it sounded like something old lucy would do, without their powers the demons would still have brilliant fighting ability as they were, they'd probably take into account their disadvantage and prepare themselves beforehand, he wasn't so sure about the angels though, he had no doubt they'd be powerful, but can they fight as well at a disadvantage?

"alright then," Azure spoke calmly, it was a drag but if it helped their odds then working with the humans would have to do, "so cheif, what's next? you've made your point, someone understands on the human side of things, but it's not just them that you have to inform, you'll need to inform every mythos majority of a ceasefire, i volunteer to inform my kind, no, in fact i'll have to do it, besides you, me and scaley here no one here can take the temparature and lack of oxygen to make it to my people and i'm pretty damn sure you two would get lost on the way, up to you though, but our leader probably wouldn't beleive an outsider anyway, so i either go or stay, up to you cheif." he leaned against the wall and waited for the decision

"You're lucky it's only the silver ones," Justin commented, kneeling down and getting to work. "Any bullet hurts like hell to me." As he removed the bullets, he put them in his coat pocket; silver was silver, after all, and blood on the inside of a pocket didn't really bother him. After he had the last one out, he looked over at Anthony.

"General, I'll dig yours out whenever you're ready." Turning back to Eryn, he stood up and offered to help her up. "Need me to bandage those, too, or do you have some kind of crazy quick healing?"

"I'll have mine taken out when we're back at base," Anthony said smiling grimly as Hoover said she would come with them, "For now I'd rather not linger, I'm sure the UN won't be glad we're taking one of their own with us."

The attack in Rome had been on for only five minutes when the Security Council met to decide what to do. France, the Republic of China, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia, the Big 5 were seated in the chambers debating on the course of action, "We must take drastic action to stem this flow of rebellion at its source, we cannot afford to have prominent UN members in the hands of the Mythos," France's representative said in quick French, the universal translator relaying this to the other members.

The US and Chinese representatives nodded their agreement while Russia and the UK were not so quick to pull the trigger, "Are you suggesting we launch a Nuclear warhead at Rome, one of the oldest cities that still exists, are you mad?" the Russian minister said, "And besides," he lowered his voice to a whisper besides the fact that the room was devoid of life, save for them, "You suggest we bomb the area that the Garden resides in? You know that is not a rational decision, stem your anger, just because it is rumoured to be led by the same Mythos that infiltrated your base two years ago, doesn't mean we need to destroy the location where Operation Conquest is set to launch."

The challenged had been called and France knew that Russia's statement rang true, "Very well, then Minister, what do you suggest we do in your infinite wisdom," the rest of the group focused on the Russian representative, waiting for his response, "What we must do, is allow Hoover to go with them, use her to find them, I'm sure her hatred of Mythos will work against them."

"Yuri this is a large gamble you are proposing," the UK ministers finally entered the debate, "How can we be sure this will work?"

"I don't know, but its the only option we have for now. Are we in agreement?"

The five men nodded and faded away as their holographic projections deactivated and they moved on with their day.

Anthony heard the footsteps of men, "We need to go now. Anyone who can fly, do so and if you can, grab someone. Quickly, we don't have much time," Anthony prayed that his demon blood would help keep his wings beating long enough to get to the ground.

The soldiers were almost to the office. Anthony barked orders, "Burst grab Azure and Justin, Wes, fly I know you can. Eryn, you and your Mother are with me," without waiting for the others to acknowledge their orders he ran towards the window and fired his pistol. The glass cracked slightly, but didn't break. It was bulletproof, of course, because nothing was ever easy. He kept firing, until a small hole was made in the glass. That was their escape. He grabbed Eryn and a very startled Hoover, turned his back to the window and dove backwards through it, his wings beating furiously as they plummeted to the streets below. Finally just before they hit the ground, they achieved flight, soaring through the streets before ascending back into the clear sky. He waited for the others to join him in flight.

Burst did as he was told, and grabbed his charges. He carried Justin closely against him, and tightly, making sure he did not fall. He held tightly on to Azure as well, possibly slightly more tightly than Justin, enough to cause someone some slight discomfort.

He followed their Angelic general, carrying his squad-mates back to the base, glad for the mission to be over, and successful.

At first, Justin found himself hyperventilating during the flight, thinking back to his airborne qualification, and how he landed in a tree and broke his leg. As the team medic, he pretty much had to set it himself before his team got him out of the tree. Now, here he was in midair, with no harness, no plane, and no parachute. Trying to calm himself, he closed his eyes and tried controlling his breathing.

Eryn closed her eyes tightly as she, her mother, and Anthony flew back towards the Mythos base. She absolutely hated flying. She preferred to run through the forests or streets.. not fly. It felt uncomfortable and unnatural.

How can someone ever get used to this?
***
Ms. Hoover was horrified and clutched onto Anthony until her knuckles were as white as snow. She was used to being in planes and flying in first class, not holding onto a monster for dear life at twenty-five thousand feet.

Wes finally shifted to human form as Anthony barked orders. He flinched and covered his eyes as the angel suddenly shot out a window, feeling shards of glass fly in all directions. When he looked again, there was a huge hole in the window and Anthony was leaping out with Eryn and their target in tow.

Burst followed right behind him, carrying Azure and Justin. There was a loud thump on the door, so Wes didn't waste any more time getting out. He vaulted over Ms. Hoover's desk, then dove out the window.

He spread his limbs out and free-fell for a couple stories, seeing the rest of his team flying low, then shifted into the form of a hawk and leveled out his flight.

Empires rise and fall, the Mother thought as she sat in her chambers alone, surrounded by the screens of the world. She forced herself to watch as the Mythos felt the consequences of Anthony's groups' actions. Machinegun fire in London, rattled the ears of civilians as the London guard took down some rioting Mythos. She switched screens to Africa where primitive tribes cooked the Mythos and ate them expecting powers, while "civilized" cities continued an ongoing powerstruggle, arms falling into children's hands and Mythos rebels. Blood now ran through the streets of the cities. Empires are formed in blood, sweat and tears of the oppressed, she thought quietly as she watched her two creations slaughter each other as if they were mere animals. The species she had raised above animals, turned out to be more like them than she had ever expected. A tear ran down her fair face as they slaughtered each other. All because she had intervened, all because of one action, this happened, everytime she tried to fix it, it simply crumbled again. Humans were powerful corrupt and plentiful. The originals, now known as Mythos were similar, without the numbers, they could not sustain war like humans.

She, a deity, could not decide what to do, would it be worth it to start again, she had done that once with Noah, but yet wickedness continued. She thought of the destroyed Greeks, Spartans, Romans and Huns she had used as tools to prevent a world empire. How Genghis Khan conquered Asia with her help and was destroyed by her hand as to prevent him from spreading. She had vowed not to interfere, but it always seemed necessary. Here she was dipping her hand into world affairs again, despite saying she wasn't. She was no better than those she condemned. More silent tears ran down her face for her world's losses, the people who would never see life again, the children that lay cast away in the streets, their small faces frozen in shock; in death they looked into the Mother's own soul. She could look anymore. It was now that Luca walked into the room to see her in tears, "I am sorry Mother, shall I come back at a more appropriate time?"

She looked at him and for a moment saw Judas in his eyes. He was the one disciple that could do what the others couldn't and betray her to the Romans to begin the destruction of the Empire. She had died on that cross, having set the seeds for the Huns to gain power with Attila eating the Apple and rallying his troops against a crippled Roman Empire. They had ironically called Judas the Betrayer, yet it was the Mother herself who had betrayed her own people to "save them."

Powers that were beyond the Mythos and the Human's; that was what she was playing with now; they were powers that even she was scared to dabble with. "Come in Luca, its fine, I was actually just about to call for you anyways. Anthony is coming back with a UN human, this is your chance to convince her that we are not the true enemy..." she trailed off as if thinking about something else, "Actually bring her and the Mythos is here, I'll talk to her myself and we'll see what happens from there."

Luca backed away shocked for a moment, "Mother are you insane? You can't keep showing yourself to humans, one day they will betray you."

The Mother snapped back, "Its thoughts like that, which continue to build hostility between the races, do as I say and I will forget this happened Luca."

His face softened, "I am sorry Mother, I will do as you say," he walked out of the room to leave the Mother to her tears.

Anthony landed harder than he expected, but still managed to dip Eryn and her mother on the ground softly before sinking to the ground in exhaustion. He saw Burst with Justin in his claws land and he smiled weakly, most of the adrenaline gone from his body, "Justin, I could really use those medical expertise of yours now," his complexion was even paler than normal and he was having trouble maintaining consciousness.

Justin began to walk towards him, when Luca came in to interrupt, "Sorry Anthony, but you're going to have to wait. The Mother requests an audience with the Humans and Mythos."

"Are you serious?" Anthony gasped, but staggered towards the entrance.

They walked towards the Chambers, Anthony limping ahead of the rest of the group before the doors opened before them, exposing the Mother. They all saw her, though in different forms, whatever they found fair and attractive they saw instead of the Mother. She spoke calmly, showing none of the weakness she had succumbed to before, "My Children. I am the Mother, the Creator, Nature and all other deities you might and would have heard about before me. I am Alpha and Omega, beginning and end. I have met with you today, so that you may believe and assist me in the quest that I have already sent Anthony on, a path that will literally take you to Heaven, Hell and back here. I am asking, not that these realms be destroyed, but rather deterred from our own Realm. This is something that has been years coming and now is only coming to fruition around us. We would be able to fight, if not for our own Civil war that plagues us. We need to stop that, before the Leaders of your United Nations destroy what little hope we have. This is you mission, your new purpose, if you do choose to help me."

The aggressive Azure stood alongside the others and frowned, of all things, he thought, she would have to use a mirage, he stared at what was presumably the deity of this realm, but all he saw was a flickering distorted image, hmph, you can't appease two souls at once.

he glanced at the others, curious about what they saw, after a moment he stretched and silently observed everyone's reactions, he had nothing to say, not out loud anyway.

Wait, my ass. Whoever we're going to probably doesn't want to talk to a corpse. As the group had walked, Justin was constantly observing Anthony from behind, trying to diagnose what kind of injuries he had and how to treat them. Satan's Bane, gotta get them out, that's a given. Loss of blood... can't give a transfusion to an angel, just have to let him recover and ask him to take it easy for... a day?

"General, can you hold still for a second?" he asked when they finally stopped. More concerned with his patient, he stepped out in front of Anthony after he'd been brainstorming during whatever was going on in the room. Preparing to get the first bullet out, he stopped when he saw the others staring behind him.

"I missed something important, didn't I?"

Eryn and Ms. Hoover stood in both disbelief and awe. Eryn looked at the Mother, listening to her speech.

Its not like we have a choice. If we don't help then we'll all die. Definitely a crappy situation for us to be in.

Shrugging, Eryn spoke to the Mother. "I'll join... Not like I have anything else to do."
****
Ms. Hoover certainly didn't know what to do or say. One minute she was in her office, the next she was in a room surrounded by Mythos and standing in front of the person who created everything. Yes, today was certainly an odd day.

Wes stared in awe at the mother, his eyes wide at her beauty. Her voice rang through his ears like a symphony. Going to heaven and hell? And stopping the war here?

"I'll stay with you." he said firmly. Something about her presence inspired confidence in him, and made him want to finish the war rather than go out for more killing. It felt . . . peaceful around her.

Justin laid his eyes on the Mother, pausing as his brain tried to find words to describe her. His combat fatigue faded as he turned to face her, as if he'd been wearing heavy infantry gear and had it all stripped away instantly. Taking a deep breath, he slowly changed his expression to one of complete serenity. He didn't know what was going on, and didn't care; he was in the presence of what had to be a supreme being. Caught up by what he saw as the most beautiful woman in the world, Justin could only mutter one word:

"...Sky?" His eyes told him that the vampire sat before him, but without the broken spirit that had resulted from the abuse he had let her suffer. Torn between the joy of seeing her, and the regret of what he let transpire, he couldn't say another word.

When Burst looked upon the Mother, he saw no beautiful woman, nor did he see a past lover. He saw his brother, Squall... But, it was not the Squall who had fought and died for his dream of unity... No, this was before. It was Squall as he was decades ago, back when he still held his idealistic spark in those eyes.

He listened intently to the Mother, and sighed once she had finished.

"I will do as you say, Mother." Burst said to the deity. "I will do as you wish, and act as your sword and strike out against those would seek to destroy your Creation. My breath shall act as Holy Fire, cleansing the realms of Demons and Angels, so that I can do right by Earth and by my brother."

He knelt slightly, feeling humbled by this experience, and bowed his head to the Deity.

The Mother looked at the Dragonkin bowed before her, "Rise," she said in a commanding tone, "The other deities may require your worship, but I desire no such thing, not when we deities have made so many mistakes in the past. I could never live with myself if I subjected my creations to such things."

She moved to the back of the room and a giant holographic globe appeared before the rest of the Mythos, "This is what every dimension looks like, a sphere, in a universe, however each ones exterior differs from the other, based off of the beliefs of the deities," she waved her hand and the globe turned from a healthy green to a glowing red and orange ball of fire, "Hell is dangerous, powerful and rewards violence and survival, a cess pool of the strong, but insecure and unstable. This reflects Lucifer's desire for conquest and power. It was this lust that started the Heaven-Hell wars that Anthony fought in. This began the process of barrier destruction and that is why angels and demons have ventured into Earth now.

The Mother waved the globe once again and the light emanating from the new image was enough to almost blind, "This is Heaven, this place is based off of arts, life and lust, as much as you wouldn't believe the latter of them all. This is a world where your heart's desires are only as far as you're willing to want for them. Yahweh is clever in the design of his world. Its defences are strong because of the soldier's lust for objects, the loss of the angel's properties are what drive them to be strong, but this also means they want more and as such, he desires Earth and Hell to add to the variety of his objects and things. This is why he first sent Anthony, to undermine me, to draw on the chaos and use it to lower the barriers of Earth to Heaven, even if he didn't know this was his original intent. Now he is with me though, because I saved his life from sure destruction. In return he has shed his essence to help my cause."

"Speaking of that Mother," Anthony interrupted, "Its good they're getting this history lesson and all, but it would be great if I didn't die here in these chambers, just a hint there Mother."

"Don't interrupt the Mother," Luka snapped at the Angel.

"Shut the fuck up Luka," Anthony retorted, "I didn't just do what no other team has ever done just to bleed out listening to history that isn't relevant anymore. I just want to get these God Damned bullets out so I can stop this damned burning in my stomach. Is that good enough for you Luka?"

"Peace Anthony," the Mother said waving her hand to silence Luka before he could retort, "We will continue this conversation tomorrow once you have rested. For now, get medical attention, get rest and allow me and Luka to converse," finally the Mother turned to Ms. Hoover and spoke softly, "Don't think I haven't forgotten you human, we shall talk one day as well, you will be treated as one of us, don't take advantage of our hospitality."

The Mother waved her hand once again and the group knew that they were dismissed. Anthony breathed a sigh of relief and walked out towards the med bay, indicating Justin to follow him, "I don't trust the medics here as much as I trust my own team, even in places like this, personal politics run abound and it's a pain in the ass to put up with."

The Mother watched as the others left and sighed before sitting down again, "Luka, you can't assume I'm better than any of them, allow Anthony to speak his mind, he has done more in these few years than any of us have ever done. Don't argue Luka, you know its true."

"Mother, does this mean we throw out all protocol out because of one Angel, we don't even know if we're letting the right man do this, he's an angel, he's the enemy, he's not the only person we could use, we have other agents,"

"It's because of his damned team Luka," the Mother said, finally losing her cool, "Stop arguing, like you said, there are other agents."

Luka paled, "Yes Mother," he said before striding out of room and closing the door with a bit more force than necessary.

Anthony sat in the infirmary as Justin prepped for some medical work. Anthony held a folder and set in on the desk beside him, "This file has information on the vampire you're doing all this for. Her last location, everything you need to know about her to find her. I know you want to, you can now."

"Yeah, well that can wait until I at least have you patched up, sir," Justin commented as he got to work, focusing on the task at hand. Throughout his treatment, he had to search several different places in the med bay to find what he needed. Nothing was missing, he was just unfamiliar with the storage setup. The angel was tough, no doubt about that, but Justin was as careful as he had been the day he took his final combat medic test due to the inexperience of actually treating an angel. While he paused several times to review his training, Justin worked at a slow enough pace to avoid making any mistakes. Once he finished applying the last dressing, Justin set his tools in the sink and walked over to the desk to stare at the folder.

He has to know how bad I want to find her.

We're not done here. You heard her, the war's just beginning.

What if she can help? She's a survivor, if nothing else.

And what if someone in the team gets hurt while you're gone?

He knows the risk, but he's still letting me go.

What if it's a test?

True tests never end. It's time to decide what's more important.

Justin stood as a statue, immobile as he stared at the folder. His expression changed slightly to reveal that he had a heavy weight on his mind, one that wouldn't be easily moved.

Wesley left the chamber, feeling slightly uneasy. Things were so much more complicated than he ever expected them to be, and he wasn't sure what to think of it all. On one hand, he'd always been a little bit split on his loyalties between humans and mythos so it would be expected to be a lot easier for him to cope with changing enemies to allies. But on the other hand, he had the fact that he was imprisoned and tortured for two years by humans. That wasn't something he'd ever be able to get past, and there would always be a reminder in his scars to stop him from forgetting.

He reached up and felt the spot in his ear where the "cure" had been. It seemed to have healed, and wasn't even sore. Of course, "healed" was relevant: there was no scabbing, but there was still the ugly slice missing from the top of his ear.

The sight of Eryn shook him from his personal reflection. She seemed as nonchalant as ever, which worried him. She had just met her mother, whom she'd been without most of her life. He'd expected some kind of emotion, some show of her feelings on the event. But she just kept her uncaring, jaded persona on.

The empathetic person that he was, he decided that he should check on her. He was concerned. For some reason, he felt like he needed to look out for her. Not in a protective way, but there was something drawing him to her that he couldn't explain.

"Eryn." he said tentatively, approaching her from the side and walking beside her. "How . . . how are you? I can't believe you can be so calm after all that's happened."

Eryn looked up at Wes as he approached her, her attitude lightning up a bit as he started to walk beside her. It seemed as though just having Wes near her made some of her anger and agitation fade away. It was certainly an odd sensation. One that Eryn wasn't entirely sure of.

"I'm just peachy." Eryn said cooly. "True, a lot has happened in the last day or two.. but.. I'm fine. And I have no other choice but to be calm. Crying and whining doesn't help anyone. I learned at a young age that doing either of those things gets you nowhere. All it does is make you look weak..and the weak get taken advantage of.."

She continued to walk, unsure of where she was actually going.

"Also, I've never been good at expressing any other feeling than rage. How are you doing?" She asked, trying not to sound too interested.
***
Ms. Hoover, who at this point still hadn't said a word, walked aimlessly around the estate. She finally collapsed onto a couch, the days events catching up with her.

This all feels like some sort of horrible dream. I just want to wake up. I can't believe I'm actually going to work with.. those.. beasts!
