Oh, Lord

it doesn't matter if they have less nukes than everyone else. the fact is that they have NUKES ANYWAY and no matter how you cut it those nukes would still kill a lot of people
That is correct. We are worried it would be used on one of our allies in that region.

and those of you who say that they are not stupid enough to attack america
Its not the Kim Jong Il isn't crazy, it is that NK is not logistically capable of doing it.

just remember that your talking about people who would glady sit in a airplane and drive it into an aircraft carrier or what not screaming BANZAI!!
No, that was Japan. Big difference.

so yes if america keeps up its whole "were the greatest country on earth...do what we say" routine then they will find themselves at war faster than you can say pyongyang
Actually, the problem here seems to be the US not pushing enough rather than too much.

and then they will blame everyone but them selves as per fucking usual
I'm pretty sure we can blame a lot of this trouble on China and North Korea

I can understand why North Korea would not want to disarm, all of these other countries have no such requirements placed on them.
Indeed, I think America is the last place in the world that could legitimately say "you've got too many weapons".

NK would be VERY stupid to try to attack us. We've got more power than they do and if for some small chance they did hit us they'd have NATO to deal with. Besides i'd assume as with most dictator type people, they want to expand their power, so blowing up the entire planet isn't really an option for them.
NATO is a joke.

Sorry, team america was just on agian this past weekend.
1) I love you
2) North Korea wishes it was relevant. If ANY country bombs ANY country of ANY value (IE anything outside of Africa or the Middle East), the war that will be unleashed upon that nation will be so damn fast that everyone will wonder if it really happened.

Because there are far too many people with far too much power to let any 5 foot tall asshole ruin it for them. China alone would utterly maul any nation near it that might screw with its cash cow.

I'd hate to be within marching distance of China...

People may not agree with me that we have allies, but allies or not anyone who tries to start a world war will vanish so fast it'll make news stations heads spin.

Aw come on, I'm on holiday in the US for one month and now it's under nuclear threat?!
That's just not fair :(

On a more serious note though, I hope that both sides realise that fighting is not a realistic option. It would be absurd for two nuclear powers to engage in war without the use of such weapons, but the consequences of using them are too awful to bear.
At least the USA has Obama instead of Bush now, eh? ;)

I highly dought the U.S. would launch a Nuclear warhead back at them because of the political and social outrage it would cause. We already have interceptor missiles based on all ships made to blow any kind of missile out of the sky before it causes damage. And if that fails then we still have the S.L.A.M. system in place also made to defend the American Homeland. Plus, if North Korea does launch a nuke then I could bet China would give about a billion troops chainsaws and throw them over the border litterally cutting down everything in sight, or they could just use a lot of napalm. Either way North Korea isn't helping themselves in starting another war.

I think the major fear is that another war may deteriorate whats left of our foreign relations. Sure it looks like it's not a problem now, but what say you if China decides to back them up. I say that because with densely populated cities all within firing range they are very much a threatened by NK. Add the fact that, generally speaking and historically speaking, Communist dictatorships often defend one another (dying breed i guess) and we could have one hell of a situation.
Not really likely. To be honest US/China relations are pretty good right now. And thats even more evident as Us diplomats are meeting in China to talk about North Korea, not the other way around.
Well China is a big beast and war can make a mess of everything. Plus countries have been known to change sides in wars before. Either way it'll work out. I was just commenting that could get worse based souly on a tiny country's decision.
Well it's easily possible that if we launch nuckes back at NK (which i dought) then China could get worried that some of the radiation could reach them and threaten their own civilians (i.e poluthing a fresh water source into radiation shit). If the U.S launches a nuke too powerful then the blast could possibly threaten China. Although I do highly dought this would happen, but anything is possible. China always seems to be easily threatened.

fallout here we come!
*claps hands in a child-like way*

but on a more serious note, if they were to somehow catch us off guard with a nuke, the hit would do some serious damage, but then yes, we'd wipe them out.

it makes me wonder why they're so confident. /: i mean, we have a pretty serious military not to mention crazy gun-nuts everywhere.

guess we'll know if they're a real threat when they get the balls to try something. not that i really want that to happen...

You all still don't seem to understand.

F*** POLITICAL PRESSURE AND POLITICAL POWER. A nuclear warhead makes that all redundant because it obliterates everything. And if they wanted to, they could launch all their nukes at America and MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS would die. And America might shoot some down mid flight, sucks to be anyone under that or anyone that uses that ocean to get water.

And the American government WOULD launch back. You end up with BILLIONS dead and a poisoned earth. America thinks "we are the biggest and most powerful, they wont attack us". Well, yes they would.

That is all IF North Korea have the power and resources to launch of course.

It's not about who has more nukes, it's about who drops the bombs first...
If they drop only a few. We can still win. We have almost 20,000 nukes.
I thought we only had about 100(yes, one hundred) nukes. Obama has been real big on reducing nuke count.

Obama is pretty much a loser too... He's a moron for pushing his healthcare program and TREMENDOUSLY increasing government spending despite a huge defecit.

However, I am confident that any attack from North Korea would be met with greater force from the U.S. as well as China. China is the greatest reason that NK won't do anything... They don't want to risk U.S. missiles landing in their backyard.

We have FAR more than 100 nukes. There is a large stockpile of B61 thermonuclear bombs that are stored at various airbases around the country, and then there are the nuclear submarines that are hidden in the seas around the globe. Obama's idea of disarming is not only stupid, it's unrealistic.

just bomb the whole country if they retaliate start wars with them and make sure you pay off China first
China doesn't need to be paid off. China is already rich, and they sure won't let anyone ruin that. And trust me... no one is going to want a WWIII... everyone will easily jump on the Anti-North Korea side and gladly attack. That'd be one hell of an attack though...
Paying off doesn't always require money let them have extra Vito point at the un or let slide on some international violation.
