It would go something like this I imagine. North Korea would fire their inferior missles at the U.S, perhaps Hawaii. The missle would either fail mid-flight or miss. The United States government would then have complete global support of an invasion of North Korea. Perhaps invoking support from the likes of China, or Russia (Because countries like England and Canada would be sure to help anyway). In theory, North Korea's act of biligerence could bring long lasting assured peace to the High-or superpowered countries.
Giving all the majors countries in the world a universal enemy to concentrate their hatred on, instead of each other. That could work.
In theory, also, off topic your avatar is awesome, Rorshach was a brilliant Character and my favourite from the book. I also enjoyed the movie a lot.

Good to know, he's my favourite as well. Both the book and the movie I found awesome too.

Doesn't the same idea actually present itself in Watchmen, creating a common enemy to unite the world?

If we do get in a war with North Korea, we can just send in Mattias Nillson and wait for him to verify Jong Il Kim.

Oh, goodness it is sort of eerie how relevant that is. Haha YES! Perhaps North Korea is the Fake alien (book) or a copy of Dr Manhattans power (Movie). Oh I am excited now.

Yeah, I noticed it when you mentioned North Korea's attack bringing long lasting peace to the super-powered countries, I just decided not to mention it as (with my avatar and everything) I thought it could've made me seem like a Watchmen fanboy. But yeah, it's shocking that talking about Watchmen can be on topic in a discussion about North Korea.

Y'know, N.Korea can throw around threats of nukes all they want. All it would take is a message from Blizzard saying they won't release Starcraft2 if anything happens, and they'd quiet right down.

The end is Nigh. If they fire nukes, we fire nukes and our allies fire nukes and their allies (if they have any) fire nukes until the atmosphere burns out and we all die.

Actually, you might be onto something. With this sudden revolt, the koreans would revolt against the koreans worshipping Kim Jong Il. Then we come in, dispose of the nukes, free the people, and release Starcraft 2.

We can even name the ugliest Zergling after his royal nukeliness.

Operative word: If.

Remember, the U.S. are the only country to gave used Nuclear Weapons against either civilian or military targets in History.

They are the real terrorists.
It's not terrorism if your fighting a war, you clown.
Actually, I don't make the distinction between:

- Thermo-Nuclear Weapons being used against non-military targets for societal change.
- Guerrilla Warfare poisoning water supplies.
- The French Resistance fighting the Nazis.
- Plane Hijackers flying jets into buildings.

It is all Conflict with terrorism thrown in.

Hence the death's head emblem on some Nazi uniforms.

So what your saying is...you're an idiot? For a start, number one never happened, I'm guessing number two is from Vietnam, The French Resistance never, ever targeted civilian targets (save traitors from the their own organisation, which is fair enough) and comparing them to the fourth is just...very, very stupid. The fourth, 9/11, was an act against humanity. It was not taken against a military target, like three, and nobody was given a warning.

To summarise, you seem to have acquired a fantastic pair of intellectual blinkers in your 1200 posts here. You're argument is so poorly structured, I'm spending more effort finding out what you are actually trying to say that I am countering it. In essence, you're saying that a man for his homeland, or a soldier for his country, is of the same stripe and colour as a Nazi murderer?

I don't see them as too big of a threat. They would be stupid to launch a war with everyone against them right now, but if we had to invade them it would be a long and bloody invasion.
if they launched a nuke at us it would be the shortest 2 hours (or less) of their existence

look, if they try to nuke us we have every right to respond in the harshest terms possible:

A binding UN resolution and a sticky note with a frownie face stenciled on it.

this kinda sounds like what Venezuela was saying a couple years back, but with nukes instead of oil. NK has been a problem since it was made and with everyone against it, it should rethink its chances. Just in the US, we have more people, better equipment, and more of it. Add the other top 3 tanks in the world with NATO and the best aircrafts ever also coming from NATO I think you can see the result

I can safely say that the game FALLOUT is very optimistic in terms of what would happen in the event of nuclear war, and is that not a scary thought? Radioactive fallout from chernobyl still lingers in most of wales today, so im wondering what the effects would be on the world from half a peninsula and some of the US being wiped out. Its the fact that N.Korea is ruled by a power crazed despot that worries me... he may just be insane enough to push the button.

On the more apathetic side though, maybe all that nuclear ash and harsh population reduction would be good for the survival of the human race, who knows?

Another effing war with North Korea. Wonderful. Seems they need to nmake trouble. They're threatening retaliation if attacked, but they broke whatever arms deal was in place at the time. Think about it. We are now in a nuclear age, were atomic bombs can kill alot more ppl then in WWII. And who the f*** do they think they are, saying they'll wipe us off the damn earth (I LIVE IN NEW YORK. I AM NOT A OVERPATRIOTIC REDNECK).
Atomic bombs can't really kill as many people as they did in WWII this is why we have H-bombs. no wait they can the world is more populated now.
