*Seconds this*

It was really to linear for me but that's just me I like to roam.

I didn't like the non-linearity of the game. I really dislike the fact that i would feel rushed to save the world from the archdemon but i had enough time to clear out pimps from the local whorehouse. I don't know, not a huge rpg fan to begin with. I much prefer stealth and puzzle games.

The fade during The Circle section and how imbalanced the classes are. Mages make fighters and rogue look like school children.

Why are we hating on Dragon Age again?

OT: Not really hate, but the final boss fight for the awakenings expansion was REALLY difficult. For me it was even harder than the final boss for the main game.

Lost in Dreams. Apparently there's a mod for the PC version that allows you to skip that stupid fucking horrible level, but I'm stuck playing on a console.

I'd say the exact opposite. Playing through as a mage was a thousand times easier than playing as a warrior. It was so easy that I felt like I was cheating. How could you possibly consider them underpowered?

I thought that the animations were bad.

Also, in that sex scene with Leliana, i saw Sten just standing there looking at us in the background. Not a terrible design oversight, but a little bit scary.

Nevertheless, I freaking love that game.

Yes! I LOATHE the Fade part.

They just put that in there as padding.

the fade section in the mage's tower

Gaaah!!! It just went on an on and on and....

And the combat as a non-mage was pretty dire

Story sucked. Just like Mass Effect 2: "Bad guy wants world destroy, find ally now!"
To be fair, all stories would be bad if we just simplified them like that.

Dragon Age: "Stop the Blight."

Bioshock: "Enter Rapture, get ordered around, guy giving you orders betrays you, then get revenge."

Grand Theft Auto 4: "Get out of debt and make it to the top."

Halo: "Kill the Covenant and the Flood."

Silent Hill 2: "Find missing wife."

And so on.
I approve of this. It is pretty annoying when people oversimplify stuff to make it sound dumb since you can do it to pretty much everything.

OT: I have mostly nitpicks about the game. It bothered me that adding a beard to a character made the face all gaunt and uneditable. The settings were a little dull I guess. Saving times on the ps3.

I actually didn't mind the Fade section.

the character's mannequin line animations
Bioware is in serious need of a guy with a Mo-Cap suit

there's one scene with Lady Isolde that I won't spoil in case you haven't played it
but she's screaming and crying. and her voice is so full of emotion and pain. but when you look at her she's standing there doing the exact same hand motion Leliana uses when she's singing about the elves.

or the Morrigan sex scene where she's like "it's cold in my tent"
but you still do it outside

The last boss.
I thought that it was REALLY difficult. I was playing on Normal!

Maybe it's because I played it on the console.
Either that, or I'm just terrible at it.
Uh.... isn't the last boss supposed to be difficult? Or ideally supposed to be difficult? Or do you prefer a final boss like Lucien in Fable II?
NO! Lucien wasn't a boss fight. He was....garbage!

Yeah, the boss WAS supposed to be difficult, but I know someone (my brother) who beat it in 30 minutes on hard difficulty.

Still, I'd rather have a very difficult boss fight than a....Fable II "boss fight".
Well then quit complaining.

I don't know, you kinda nailed Halo's story there
this should be it's own thread.
game stories in one sentence.

Beyond Good and Evil: get job, rescue pig

Mirror's Edge: deliver package, rescue sister.

Resident Evil 5: shoot foreigners, all bad guys turnout to be white.

I may sound like a noob here, but I thought it was way too hard. The enemies take twice as much damage as you and attack quicker. Eventually I gave up and changed to easy mode which wasn't exactly a walk in the park either.

The lack of completely legitimate means to reach the level cap unless you buy DLC and low numbers of troops you can have at one time in the final mission (50 man army: great. you can only have 6 of them at a time: dammit.

Oddly the lack of realism in one specific manner.

Your tasked with defeating the dark spawn and told you would have the option to recruit allies. Though you basically cant start the lansmeet until youve in essence completed the 4 prime subquests, even if it makes it an unwinnable situation. I can understand completing the redcliff segment, but that honestly should be the only thing you require before the lansmeet.

Other things... repetitive combat. Skills are basically irrelevant and unnoticeable after a while.

Release of like 6 DLC packs + expansion. After a while you just dont even care any more.

Lacking ability to actually change your NPCs personas. You can, but only to a very minor degree.

I could go on nitpicking, but why.. Honestly it was a great game and any bitches are minor at best.

Not enough variation, too many dungeon crawls seriouslt the mages tower would have been fine on its own but I have never, NEVER seen a game with two long slog dungeon sections inside each other the fade was not fun or challengng just really time consuming. Noy enough exploration/secrets, melee classes felt way to simmilar.

Overall I loved the game, so I'll just throw in a few little nitpicks I have:
- Text screen endings. Sorry, but even some NES games moved beyond this.
- Recycled animations. Most of the animations that were there were good, but they re-used them too many times.
- No love for archers. Archery sucked, and was boring.. and it sucked.
