FF9 goes all to the hell the second you challenge someone to a card game.

I used to think it was just because I was young and stupid that I couldn't understand it. Now I realize it's just because the game is an impenetrable abyss.

When I realized that in DJ Hero 2, you can play against people that are on a different difficulty than you.

Which is good, in theory, but think about Star Battles or Checkpoint Battles. The person on the lower difficulty will ALWAYS win, because they have less notes to hit, almost no chance to make a mistake on a scratch, and can easily get 100% on almost every section. All while people on Expert are frantically scratching exactly to the song, tapping insane rhythms, and missing many, many notes. Then ending up losing time and time again.

Red Dead Redemption.

There is really nothing to do after you get 100%...no random events or nothing to keep me interesting.
Not to mention Jacks voice was annoying as hell.

Flaws in enemy AI that lets you beat bosses easily. Sure you can [not exploit] it, but if the boss makes you frustrated, you can give in to temptation easily.

Resident Evil. I know a lot of people are for the change in RE4 with the fighting system (which I do agree, was amazing) but turning away from zombie's to plagus... not my fav. It turned from a survival horror to an action genre. /sigh Guess it sells though.

Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga - when one of the minibosses can deal twice as much damage in ONE SECOND (for reference, this is literally the first second of the fight) as you have health (this is at game-winning player levels, by the way), and good luck getting more health/resistance.

Jet Set Radio Future gets frustrating when you have to face off with The Immortals and you have to tag their area.

What was the moment where you realized that there was a flaw (maybe fatal) with your (perhaps) favorite game? Mine was the ending to Borderlands. Shame.
I did finish the main game and my initial reaction was the same although after giving it some thought I think the ending was fair at least. I mean.. if you really knew what was going to be there.. would you have risked your neck and gone to all that trouble. Actually, to better sum up my thoughts there..

?Too often we are so preoccupied with the destination, we forget the journey.?~Unknown (agree/disagree? I personally found the overall experience of Pandora to be pretty cool, the ending not having as significant an impact on my opinion really.)

Half way thru Indigo Prophecy it just goes fucking crazy.
That. And when monsters appear in Uncharted. There was absolutely no sign of anything paranormal until the 90% point. And then those annoying fucks show up and turn the game into Resident Evil. Lame.

Final Fantasy 7 with the flash back scene and when Cloud has to find himself... worst thing was when I forgot to save after the flash back scene once, died, and had to do it again...

In fallout 3 when you don't have broken steel and play the last mission then relising that you can't continue and you last save was raven rock.

Also to a lesser extent people that talk about thier issues in shooters online to their friends.

In Fable 2 and 3 when the adventure/story slows down and it turns into lame mini games and a real estate game to make money.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post. It's the whole captcha thing. I am not a bot...

Fallout: New Vegas. The point when it started experiencing crashes no greater than ten minutes apart. The patch does not help in anyway that I can see at all.

been talking about kingdom hearts a lot lately... but ahhh hell why not

Okay, the first KH, it stops being fun when you start your second play through and then realize you have to spend two hours on destiny islands, and then spend another hour on Traverse town... ugh, I just wanna meet donald and goofy and get to motherfucking Nightmare before christmas!

KH2, On the second playthrough also, The first hour or three as Roxas, I FUCKING HATE THAT GUY! yeah, it's annoying as hell, but then it gets good after that

KH BBS, if you play by the intended order, I am currently moderately bored and frustrated in Aquas story. She is a very weak character and it takes a lot of work to level up all of her abilities and meld them into useful commands. But I have a feeling I will like playing as mickey, or whoever the secret character is.

other games now, Monster Hunter FU: when you lose your save file and have to restart after sinking 160 hours into it, its that initial tut and first star missions that really annoy me.

Assassins creed 2 stopped being fun when I realized free-running was counterproductive unless I was looking for feathers.

Left 4 Dead 2, when you realize you could be killing zombies in another game with a true goal other than survive so you can join another online game.

Half Life: Source, I just got this in the holiday sale, and I got pissed cause I know I know most of the game but cant remember how to defeat some of the big worms

STALKER SOC stopped being fun when I thought there was an autosave feature and found out there wasnt... im gonna hit it up later and see if I still can play it, although CoP seems so much more interesting just because pripyat is in it

Hrmmmm... It was situational and a result of my lack of experiences with RPGs, but my first playthrough of Knights of the Old Republic was stopped cold when I went to Korriban first. A level 7 Jedi with Force Stun as his only crowd control does not do well against the multiple terentatek in the final tomb.

I made some foolish choices, but I was also a bit upset that I was apparently supposed to know about those sorts of mechanics despite being a noob to the genre.

While over marketing is a big turn off for me (IE the saw movies), it stands to reason that even with video games there's only so much story you can put into one game. If you create a good video game with deep characters, it stands to reason that it might take a few games to give the story justice.

Pointless sequels annoyme, and Over information is just as bad. A big flaw of over information was the game GrimGrimoire. Sure, the thing starts off as a rip off of Harry Potter, new kid who is out of place joins in at a school for teaching kids how to use magic. And while they switched the "houses" into styles of magic uses and those into five magic types instead of four ways of thinking, when the head master shows up with the name Gammel Dore, that was a particular face-palm for me.

Anyways, the game starts off as REALLY girly and everyone is cute, and getting along but things get cool and dark quick and my interest was peaked. Then came the twist and the threat of immanent destruction at the hands of a walking WMD (too soon?). A bell tolls you had to live the first four days of school over and over, each time the big bad happening and you reset to the beginning, but retaining all your previously gathered knowledge. The point of the game is to, of course, stop the bad from happening. And at the beginning it was fun trying to put together the information provided to you and get everyone's backstories and try to figure out what happened, who made it happen, and how to stop it. And each 4 day run through gave more information that cleared previous suspicious people and brought forward new ones... but it just kept happening. A couple of times i figured it was the end battle and the game would be over, but nope. gotta start all over and new information is presented. It got to the point to where i stopped carring. Oh and on top of that, It's an RTS game where the school is cut open longways, so you see all the different floors, you are given creatures that are strong against A type creatures but weak against C type creatures, its fun to learn who your facing, and what they like to use and plan accordingly, but once every Class of magic reveals their "dragon" creatures that are so fucking big they walk on the outside of the walls, Strategy takes a back seat. Oh and if you do plays this game and when you go all dragon whoop ass on a *****, you WILL be singing stephen Lynches "KILL A KITTEN"... TRUST ME

ANwyays, back on topic. My main issue is platform switching. It doesn't bother me so much that there are games exclusive to one console. Halo is on the Xbox etc. However what does bother me is when the games sequels and prequels are on different consoles. IE Kingdom Hearts. They keep releasing games on the DS and PSP, I don't have those and its stupid for me to get them when i have NO interest in any of the other games that those consoles offer.
