It's not a shot-for-shot remake. That was the LAST level of Duke 3D, and the FIRST level of DNF.

If they'd let it continue to the next few demo levels, we could see the all new sh-tuff, Like Duke's custom Monster Truck and a new underground base level where he nukes a large spacecraft.

Wait, dont forget that in the game he is playing his game. That is the first level, I read it somewhere. It is probably supposed to look like that. I presume that it is the ending of DN3D.

I wasn't impressed until the ending, I admit. If they can carry that humour all the way through (and not overdo it), it could be like the Banjo-Tooie of first-person shooters.

Thing is, we need an FPS like Duke Nukem again. If this game sells, it'll be a sign of good things to come, imo.

how so? it looks fun and if the reviews are good ill pick it up once it goes on sale, but they haven't tried to revolutionize the genre, it will still have rechargeable health and shields, auto aim and all the other stuff you will find in any other fps out there, this one will just feature some light-hearted humour, and if thats all you want then i can recommend deathspank.

Looks, pretty sweet, I kind of wish i was old enough to have played the original and want this game a ton.
at first i was afraid of it becoming a generic 1st person shooter, but after that 4rth wall thing, i can rest easier.
also that guy was annoying as crap.

You know that unlike consoles, PC's have massive backwards compatibility and you could very well be playing the original right now!

Y'know, I think I agree. Painkiller was fun, and I guess I could give Serious Sam a spin, but I kinda want something current-gen like that. Maybe the Duke can deliver...

Meh.

It just looks like an above average FPS to me. It looks fun... but I expected much more with twelve years of work under its belt. I hope it isn't blown out of the water like Halo and Call of Duty; everyone proclaiming it's the greatest game of all time.

We'll have to wait and see. Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong and it'll completely revolutionize the way we see games.



Though I really doubt it...
