Oh I just looked them up on youtube once and didn't like it. It seemed a bit too intense with no real purpose for me.Tips_of_Fingers said:Haha, let's here it straight from a guy who hates HORSE the Band then...why do you hate them? I'm not going to tell you you're wrong, I'm just curious.
Haha, your Converge comment made me laugh. HORSE's older material is difficult because of the unpolished sound and pretty crappy vocals. I mean, I like it, but I know why others wouldn't. As for A Natural Death and Desperate Living, these two albums show the maturity of HORSE and actually have some incredibly philosophical themes running throughout. I love the challenge that their music gives me, and they're also one of the hardest touring bands ever...although every bands tends to say that about themselves so take that with a pinch of salt.AnarchistFish said:Oh I just looked them up on youtube once and didn't like it. I guess that's ironic coming from a Converge fan.
Actually I've just looked them up again and it sounds better than before. I might need to give them a full listen.
theseworlds said:Sorry, I have to disagree. They're nothing alike. Both are mellow at times, yes but RX Bandits have a much more complex sound. They're pretty much a prog-ska/rock band with the crazy shit they do with their songs... Check out the other songs off of Mandala and ...The Battle Begun. One of their songs - It's Only Another Parsec - was on one of the guitar hero games:Tips_of_Fingers said:That band (what was it? RX bandits?) sounds very similar to Birds of Tokyo. Obviously if it's not your thing then it doesn't matter, I just wanted to highlight how different they are to Birds of Tokyo. I hope we can still be friends = P
Also, how out of place does the vocalist look whilst singing this song!
The make me think of TDEP mixed with electronic elements, minus Greg Puciato's insane vocalsTips_of_Fingers said:Haha, your Converge comment made me laugh. Hrm, I guess, but HORSE definitely don't have as fucked up time signatures as The Dillinger Escape Plan.AnarchistFish said:The make me think of TDEP mixed with electronic elements, minus Greg Puciato's insane vocals
Yay, I'm not the only one that thinks CoB was better before Latvalakman123 said:Children Of Bodom? Just their old stuff, e.g. anything before Hate Crew Deathroll.
Maybe The Word Alive.
If you want to go for sheer song length, try Sleep's "Dopesmoker". One track. 65 minutes.theseworlds said:I'm listening to Crimson right now. At first, I had to blink a few times to make sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. 40 mins!?!? And it's only 1 song? Wow. I'm impressed. I like it so far, will definitely keep listening.Rabish Bini said:Edge of Sanity - Crimson
Edge of Sanity - Crimson II
Both concept albums, both albums that must be listened to in one sitting, the first album is just one long track.
The two most incredible metal albums after The Great Misdirect.
Thanks man![]()
Origin of Symmetry is a masterpiece...I consciously avoid their newer stuff. Although I really like Knights of Cydonia. = Dsomeonehairy-ish said:Also, Muse: Origin of Symmetry or Muse: Absolution are both really good albums. Much better than their more recent stuff IMO...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGXB2aBry_k&feature=related I'm not keen on their new stuff at all, but backwards it sounds alright xDTips_of_Fingers said:Origin of Symmetry is a masterpiece...I consciously avoid their newer stuff. Fucking nostalgia alert when I listened to those three songs. I've misplaced my copy of it and haven't heard any of those songs in so many years... New Born remains one of my favourites...InterAirplay said:Massive Muse snip
