Interestingly enough, I notice they haven't hit on MS. I wonder if that's because MS has one of the stronger security walls, or if they don't particularly want to piss them off.

Either way, I think over the coming months Lulzsec will slowly find themselves ground down as companies upgrade their security.
As much as they like to show off, Lulzsec probably understands that if they go after a company like Microsoft, or even Valve for that matter, that will be the beginning of the end for them.

It seems to me that this hacker group consists of nothing more than networking bullies who go after those they think are weaker than them. I cannot wait for them to slip up and target the wrong company.

not to project....but does anyone think that a war between these asshole hackers (not just lulz sec but also lulzboats and others) and Anon might go down?

i hope not...the universe couldn't take it.

Now why doesn't Anonymous attack them?

They are just black hats at this point.
I agree compleatly, anonymous, if your out there, and we know you are cos your everywhere, take these guys down, what anonymous does is always for the greater good, while i dont usually agree with their methods, i cant deny their cause and that they get things done, lulzsec are just assholes for the sake of being assholes, you would be doing us all a favour.
yes, because when they attacked the epilepsy forums, bullied that girl, defaced hip hop websites with racial slurs and hate speech, and attacked that OTHER girl for not showing her tits, they where doing it for the greater good.

seriously?
alright fair point, but as the extra credits ep on anon stated, anyone can say they're anonymous, the sect of anonymous that do the stuff you talked about i do not support, obviously, but alteast some of them do do good.
I'm stating that one has the take the good with the bad. stating anon does nothing but good is false, regardless if you "ignore" the bad side. Since anything and anyone can be anon, they have to take responsibility for the bad side instead of just going "durp, wasn't us!" when something bad happens and only accepting rewards when they do good.

Its extremely hypocritical.
And im stating that i dont support the bad things they do, however in my personal opinion its almost like theres two completely different groups both under the same banner, judging by the jarring differences in the acts they commit, theres never any middle ground, and i of course firmly stand against those that do bad then call themselves anonymous, but stand by those who do good and call themselves anonymous.

Has anybody thought that perhaps these "Hackers" are actually being employed by somebody as an excuse to ramp up governmental presence on the internet?

Just a thought, because the attacks seem random, and I doubt that many people with this level of skill would do it just for the hell of it.
If it is then part of the ramped up government will be more regulations on how companies store customer information and regulations on minimal security.

Ah, yes. The "lulz". The concept created by 13 year olds and below, for 13 year olds and below.

Only now, those people have grown up - physically speaking only, of course - and have basic hacking skills.

I can't believe that anyone finds this entertaining. Why would you donate money to harmful fun? There is plenty of harmless fun out there in the world to have.

if they where, i assure you gaming sites wouldn't be the blunt of their targets.

for every 1 gamer there are about 400 poeple who aren't. Hacking the websites of gamers only effects... well... gamers. They would have hit something far more reaching, like facebook or taken out google for a day.
They attacked FB yesterday and found its security was superb.

LolzSec have just lost all credibility in my eyes now.The big problem is no one is really going after them as if they try to hack a target and fail they most likely do not bring it up and i doubt compaines will notice comparing it to all the rogue programs and other hackers moving around the internet they have to deal with everyday.

So they can not really lose unless someone hacked them back

They didn't try to hack FB, they were explaining why they wouldn't bother.

They made similar comments about Google. Protip: Anything mentioning 'The Gibson' is a joke.

I play Brink on the 360 but haven't singed up to anything, so i think i'm safe. I hope this doesn't mean i won't be able to play online now though.

I also signed up for the bethesda newsletter several years ago (can't remember why or what for) and i'm a little bit concerned they'll get ahold of one of my old passwords. Since the Sony thing i've changed passwords for pretty much everything now anyway since my iTunes account was compromised (most likely due to me being a victim of the Sony incident), but it's still got me a bit on edge.

This sucks, but there's nothing that can be done about it, really. Not as long as people keep giving them money. The police won't catch them. It's nice to think they've got some tracers on standby and SWAT teams ready to bust open some apartment door, but honestly, it will never happen. You cannot win against cyber-terrorism. If it was that easy, we wouldn't have so much illicit activity on the internet. (Piracy, child pornography websites, etc)

Actually, the reason for most of that is they host those websites through servers in countries where it either isn't illegal, or the law isn't enforced. (Child pornography and such)

As for piracy, they generally CAN track down pirates, but it's difficult enough that they don't bother with it unless they feel like they need to make an example of one of them. (Like with the illegally downloaded music cases)

That being said, I imagine that LulzSec are simply very good at covering their tracks. :/

I thought the warning that it may get you hacked and the for the lulz was enough to say I wasnt being serious. But we all know how sarcasm goes on the internet....

I am so sick of Lulzsec. Seriously, this shit is getting f*cking annoying.

F*ck lulzsec. F*ck all of those assholes there.

Yes, I am aware that my censoring did exclude shit and assholes, but not f*ck and all variations thereof.

Somebody, I don't care who, needs to get in there and take all of Lulzsec's pathetic, five year old asses down.
