They are just too cool of a bad guy to throw away.
After two games, they're going to bring back the exact same antagonist?

Why not make something creative instead? Like, I dunno, the Legion?
They don't have to be the only antagonists.

after all how else are you going to get your tesla armor?

but the brotherhood of steel is probably bigger and stronger now. Having gained access to all their technology, records, and research in Fallout 3.
The Brotherhood is also in decline; they lost a war against NCR after destroying Redding's gold deposits, which were what backed the NCR currency.

Like many have said before

the Enclave will be there

its just how they roll
Uh, no. Read the entire thread before posting. The Enclave will not appear.
fine..."like some have said before"

...look, its the Enclave...theyre gonna turn up at some point regardless of who says what...

they are kinda jerks like that...

Exactly. That's what the Vegas crime families/organizations and the overly bureaucratic NCR are for. Every faction is your antagonist, we don't need to bring back one that died two games ago and was piped into the last game.

Oh, and Tesla armor appeared in Fallout 1 as well. It's not an Enclave invention.

It's probable that some sort of Enclave remnant will show up, just not in the form of the old Enclave. It'll be doctors and scientists; all of the soldiers went East. Someone like http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Arcade_Gannon for example, is a highly possible thing.

As far as I am aware that is not canon.

That's Van Buren's canon. The E3 videos with Jason Bergman and Josh Sawyer have confirmed it, it's just that nobody's updated the Brotherhood article yet. Check the history.

Well was the entire Enclave situated in D.C.? I would be surprised if they were
Yes. Any combat-ready, boots-on-the-ground Enclave trooper was taken to the East by the order of Autumn Senior.
Really? So now that they don't have a supercomputer commanding them they have no idea what to do? I mean I know they're tools in the first place but I'd figure they'd at least have a general idea of what they're trying to accomplish even without a valiant leader.

Not disagreeing with you per se, just confirming what's going on.

Most of the Enclave force is dead, after the destruction of Raven Rock, the attacks on Project Purity, AAFB, and the Satellite Relay station, and just general Liberty Prime-ness.

In addition, the Enclave was never very big. They have never and will never recruit, and the Oil Rig used pregnancy cycles like Vault City. The Enclave would have died out within five generations anyway.

You really think the Enclave can survive it's president being murdered twice, bases in D.C and California being destroyed?

Naaa I think it's gonna be more about Super Mutants.
Oh yeah, they can survive that, that's like asking can the Joker come back after falling off a cliff and into the ocean. Not only will they be back but stronger than before. Why? It's in the script.

I wonder if we can side with the Brotherhood of Steel or whatever they decide to call themselves now. I'd rather side with them, they seem to be the guys I can agree with. Heck, maybe there's a civil war where you can unite both forces ending the war and choose the cause they take. I'd greatly appreciate that.

The outcome could greatly affect New Vegas as well.

The original Brotherhood barely exists anymore, after they were defeated by NCR.

I am thinking back to the whole destruction of Raven Rock and all that jazz.. Later, at the end, you have the option to talk Colonel Autumn out of what he was doing, and he just walks away. If this is the case, I don't see him taking his band of merry men and carving out a little niche of the DC Wasteland pie for themselves lol

Maybe we'll just see a small band of them, somewhat like the Outcasts? But more like a band of Remnants. I don't know for sure, not saying one way or the other.. I just have a sneaking suspicion we'll see them in some format.

Then I will be VERY impressed with a fresh new storyline. But it will stick in the back of my mind something will pop out, Enclave refugees, a side cult, ect.

If not, still a winner. We get a new story.

Yeah, the original... but come on, you have to figure they created another organization around there somewhere.

Circle of Steel or not, a one man army/spy/scientist is really all it takes. Fallout proved that, Fallout 2 proved that... and arguably Fallout 3.

But as a group of scientists, officials, and conscripts into other factions. Not the high-tech Eagles and Flags and Vertibirds that they were previously.

Well, if Van Buren is anything to go by, then the Brotherhood is either 5 or 6 dudes hiding in the bowels of Maxson Bunker, or a group of facist paranoid schizos like the Nightkin and the Circle are.

Huh, looks like I got the Enclave slightly intertwined with the brotherhood and confuzzled myself into this. Well anyways thanks for the info :D

Yeah hey, something like that even. When I think about it, I suppose the lack of Enclave is beneficial. Otherwise it'd probably just feel like the original Fallout 3, but in Vegas instead 'heh.

Yup.

Doesn't mean that an Enclave spin-off game wouldn't be fun, as long as it was set somewhere between F2 and F3. I'm keeping an eye on The Eagle Has Landed, which is an Enclave main quest overhaul mod for F3. :p
