Good to know the Enclave isn't going to be the main villain. Now I just have to hope there isn't some Master 2.0 nightkin edition or some other way of using the super mutants as the main antagonist.
Actually, the teaser for Fallout Online has some graffiti that reads "THE MASTER LIVES". :p
And I can see him working in an Online setting, questions on his survival notwithstanding. I just don't wanna be fighting primarily the super mutants/the enclave again in the single player games is all I meant.

It is the Fallout tradition to introduce the main antagonist halfway through the game, so yeah it's likely the Enclave will be featured.
Don't forget about the New California Republic.
How would they be the villain?

Well, don't worry. Super mutants will not feature as heavily as they did before; most of the mutants have gone the way of the wanamingo. (Extinct!)

The mutants will, however, still be the ultra-lethal killing machines that they were in F1, so bring lots of AP rounds to go with your guns.

NCR is keeping a strangehold on power and water for the region, diverting the flow of both to their numerous outposts instead of places like the Strip. It's how NCR is still together; the NCR dollar is now backed by water instead of by gold after the Brotherhood annihilated the gold deposits.

How would they be the villian?
Whose the villain is all a matter of perspective ain't it?

I am going with the side that can ensure maximum survival and by the looks of it that group is the NCR.

Off topic question here, do quotes on an edited message go through to the person you're quoting? 'Cause I basically explained why NCR is not pro-survival above...

All I meant was if what we hear is true then you get to choose who your villain is.

Well, that's a no. >.>

Grr. Now half of what I said just fell on deaf ears.
I got your quote before but i;m not sure if that is what you were refering to.

Also i'm sure we will get some news about the Brotherhood sent to the East. You just watch the Brotherhood in NV might just have their own Liberty Prime robot.

I think the Enclave is dead or atleast won't be in this game Unless the Vault Wiki is lieing to me.

Off Topic: I would love to be able to bring the Western Brotherhood of Steel from the brink of destruction and Take down the Much larger Other Factions.

Mostly the water stuff. Just scroll up, I guess.

And another Liberty Prime is 100% impossible. The US couldn't get ONE working, how could the post-apocalypse?

The Enclave should have disappeared after the end of Fallout 2, their leader was dead, their base in ruins, most of their troops dead, etc.

But no... Bethesda had to bring them back for Fallout 3... Made absolutely no sense, much like the Super Mutants, but they had to...
Except all of those are reasonably explained. In the story. You would have to have paid some attention to it.

1) Presidents die, they get replaced. Eden was a fallback Continuity of Government ZAX. Something similar was actually built into DARPA, the backbone of the Internet (not an actual AI, obviously).

2) *A* base was in ruins. A couple of bases. The Enclave, however, was the US shadow government and worked closely with Vault-Tec. You think a couple blown bases on the West Coast means their entire network collapses?

3) As no one knows how many troops they had to start with, no one knows if they lost "most of" them.

4) You can thank Vault-Tec/military experimentation for BOTH versions of the Super Mutants, both West and East Coast.

Most of your problems seem to revolve around the idea that a continent-wide badguy outfit would somehow be forced to put all its eggs in a given basket.

I think KT has an excellent point, though: we should be seeing the Enclave, if at all, as a minor faction just trying to stay in one piece. It also makes sense that the Eyebot could just be on autopilot and picking up the local station.
The enclave and the US government retreated to Poseidon oil rig of the coast of california-Destroyed.
Their backup in dc, and their mobile base crawler-destroyed,along with the son of the dead enclave general autumn, col autumn. Their leaders are all dead.
Their plan to use a giant space ship and the bomb satellites-abandoned-non canon from fallout van buren
Non canon vault 0 in cheyenne mountain complex destroyed in fallout brotherhood of steel
Not many places left for the enclave

Also, vault tec was only responsible for the super mutants on the east coast. Those on the west coast out of mariposa were from the fev that was developed by the military in partnership with west-tek
the possibility of them being a minor faction is there, but it is slight.

The brotherhood out east are supposed to be involved in a brutal war with the NCR at the Hoover Dam

I'm assuming there will be no BoS or Enclave in this game, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. As long as the two fighting factions have some sort of power armor I'll be good to go :p

I'm sure scribe rothchild can figure something up. You can use the steel coming out of the Pitt. Plus it doesn't necessarily have to be an exact copy of Liberty Prime but the Brotherhood will definitely have the schematics and will be doing something about it.

They might show up but people shouldn't be so quick to assume they'll be there just because it's a Fallout game. Keep in mind Fallout 3 was only the second game that they appeared in.

Two games is far more than enough for a faction that died in the first game they appeared in.

The Pitt doesn't like the Brotherhood. Remember the Scourge?

The enclave is going to be ther because there motovation is to take over the world.
No. That motivation is why absolutely all of them are 100% certainly dead.

Ashur is too reasonable to not trade with one of the biggest powers on the East Coast.

There's nothing that says the Brotherhood is the biggest, though. There's the mysterious and very powerful city of Ronto in Canada, and the Legion owns all of the Midwest.
