They don't deserve band of the decade, we could award them most successful rock band of the decade, as they have outsold all the others. That would be fair.
Also, I don't get where all the hate for them comes from, they are a perfectly OK band, not fantastic but not terrible either.

I guess you could applaud their consistency the same way you'd applaud a moron banging his head against a wall.

I know it's the fanboy in me, but my personal "band of the decade" would've gone to Mastodon. Formed late 1999, released four albums, all of which have received critical acclaim, and by 2009 they've played shows with Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, and the likes. They also rock.

Nickleback are meh. They're not bad, but they're not good either. So I'm a little dissapointed. Besides, I would have been for pretty much anyone that got it. I mean, Muse? Their last two albums are tosh. RHCP? And people say Nickleback just sound the same. I propose my own shortlist, feel free to disagree completely:

I despise Nickleback.
If my wife and I are driving and listening to the radio, and Nickleback comes on, I immediately turn off the station. Even if there is nothing else to listen to and we have to drive in musical silence for the next 4 or 5 minutes, I will refuse to listen to that ass-clown band.
To name them band of the decade makes me sad strictly because it's based on sales.
Which means people, lots of people, actually buy that crap.
Fun 'At Home' Experiment:
Make your own Nickleback CD by following these instructions!
1) Take and record 4 guitar chords.
2) Record your tone-deaf uncle singing in the shower
3) Burn both recordings on a CD
4) Wipe your ass with that CD.

I think Muse is the best band of the decade. And will be next decade. Muse are simply the best band in the world at the moment, I'm seeing them live in wembley next year. Im also seeing Nickelback live on the 17th of January, so I think they're good. They don't deserve game of the DECADE though
What astounds me is how can a one-hit wonder like Nickelback (which they were until that godawful 'Rockstar' track) have two hits?!
