To be honest I'm just worried the UK is going to get pulled into it.
Oh we will get pulled into this. We have become america's *****. Our government will do anything to get on their good side. Frankly that makes me quiet miffed. We should be improving relations with the europeans and should become more important in the EU.
I would like it there was no wars please. They will likly result in consciption and if it lasts more then 2 years I'll be conscripted and I'm patheticly weak.

Let me put this in the simplest possible terms:

Let's do to North Korea what we did to Dresden in 1945.

Nukes aren't necessary. Incendiaries will get the job done just as well.

The nukes aren't supposed to fall for another two years at best, 67 years at worst. Oh well, time to prepare for Yao Guai now.
Don't feed the Yau Guai!
I'm so gonna become a radio DJ. Say Hello to 4 cats!

OT: Surely this is just between N. Korea and S. Korea really? Why is America getting involved?

North Korea, blow them up as they are only bluffing. You could destroy anything of value from the ocean anyway and why wait until they actully get a nuclear weapon? Yes America and Europe would blow North Korea to pieces if they did commit to a nuclear strike but why wait until then? North Korea - crappy country that brain washes its people. Only country in the world i would be happy to invade.
Fuck, boy, you better be trolling. I am speachless.
No trolling. Ok, maybe not blown them to pieces but something really needs to be done about North Korea, and in particular there leaders. They treat there people like dirt. You should read up on them, country lives in poverty while there leader spends millions on cars and expensive alcohal. And if they do get nukes then we are all in trouble. I say invade, get rid of there leadership and sort out reconnecting north and south korea once more. Only way to deal with the threat and also to save the people that live there.
Well, invading would be an option if our countrys in the west didnt have a habit of stampeding into countrys like Vietnam or Iraq, taking the riches, stomping over everything, and leaving again without helping the people in any way. And I have read up on north Korea, I know the standard of living and how fucking insane there "God-emperor" is. But that is hardly the fault of the people, and even if it was, just remember, that in no way means YOUR life is worth more than theres. Its just kinda funny how one moment you were talking about blowing them to shreds and the next your saying "oh lawd we have to save there people before its too late!".... Like, wtf?

Kill the guy at the top or get rid of him somehow else and let the people build a true communist state, and not this wannabe communist Stalin copycat bullshit built up by 3 year olds who obviously confused Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler with Karl Marx. But I guess that is indeed way easier said than done.
Your name seems familiar. Too familiar. Also, Kim Jong Il is the world's biggest troll.

North Korea will unleash a nuclear war if they do those exercises.
Surely you don't believe it's that cut and dried. North Korea knows that there is no conceivable way in which they could benefit from a war, much less a nuclear one. It is not going to happen.

Right.
Honestly, all North Korea has over us right now is their artillery batteries aimed at Seoul.
That is until we can sucessfully luanch all our stealth bombers at it.

But nuclear war? Bah, NK's got nothing.
Unless China steps in.

In all honesty, your country, if allied with South Korea, may be called in to help soon. Sadly, if an ally calls on you to help, you have to help. If you don't, you'll be labeled as a douchebag by other allies.
You know what? We HAVE helped and it's caused us no end of grief. Fuck it, if America wants to go bombing more small third world nations, I genuinely hope they have the stones to do it alone.

Just... Before America goes charging in (alone, dammit! ALONE! We want no part of this!), just remember that the attitude of "we have more stuff, better stuff, and we genuinely believe that right is on our side" has gotten your arses kicked for almost every war for the last sixty years by peasants with outmoded (and in many cases, utterly improvised) weapons, and this time you're going up against people who have nuclear weapons and the will to use them. Enjoy!
Just because you personally want nothing to do with this, doesn't mean your government doesn't...and maybe it's time for someone to knock a little sense into North Korea's head anyways!

If it escalates to a nuclear war, America will be in a bit of a pickle as they cant nuke North Korea, but North Korea has no problems in nuking America.
Oh, we can nuke them. Nuclear weapons bans only work if nobody's currently firing nukes, and there's only one way to match the competition if someone should decide to fire one. The only downside is, as stated by this, NK will have to make the first strike. They won't be able to hit the US directly, but they might be able to put a dent in that joint exercise force.

What scares me is the fact that we're not safe here in Canada... Nuclear strike hits the US, and the prevailing winds will push most of the radiation northward.

Oh, why did I ever pay attention in my World Issues class?

What's an "Islamist" exactly?

OT: People seem to be under the impression that if North Korea launched a nuke at America then America would be able to just up-and-at-'em straight after. This is a nuclear warhead we're talking about. First strike wins.

Anyway, I hear North Korea often make these types of threats. It's only such big news after everyone accused Pyongyang of sinking that submarine.
1) Islamism is the belief in Islam not only as a religious ideology but as a political one.

2) I think you vastly overestimate the DPRK's nuclear arsenal. Even if their missiles didn't crash into the sea en route (as happened before), they've only had the capacity to make, at most, about three weapons. Three small atomic bombs does not MAD make.

it's just silly strong-talk. North Korea knows we don't have to use nukes at all. These days, nukes are all but obsolete anyway. The minute they make a confirmed hostile action against us, we're going to precision strike every government building, military bunker, and emplacement they have.

We'd send them back to the dark ages without launching a single nuke. We know it, they know it, but they continue to antagonize us. I would imagine what they're hoping for is for us to do something, so then they can swing the "oppressed underdog" thing. But since we won't strike first, it's never going to happen. So NK is like that annoying kid in the corner in grade school: he talks shit a lot, but he's a twig; anytime he actually tries to fight he gets dropped in a trash can, and ignored. Business as usual.
