North Korea Launched The Rocket! [http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/04/04/north.korea.rocket/index.html]
Yep. And...nothing happened.
Yet...
Japan is in an emergency U.N. Security Council meeting right now, discussing what to do.

Oh. Well, here's hoping it doesn't lead to WWIII!

People really shouldn't fuck with America. I don't mean to be red neck patriot but it just doesn't end well for countries that do. quite frankly I feel more secure In America then any other country (except for Switzerland those bastards will never get attacked). I don't care if this makes me naive because quite frankly at least I'm happy.

Why's everyone getting their panties in a bunch over N.K launching a rocket, which turns out to be exactly what they said it was? What, the N.K can't have satellites because they're not America?

How in the hell does having a satellite like everyone else violate the U.N "rules" (pft, guidelines, if you're lucky)?

Fuck, the world's dumb.

America? That big rock and piece of sand with two types of apple variety and a diet consisting of grease and fizzy water?

Please. I feel a lot safer in Britain, we've got the SAS, football hooligans, kettle crisps (improvised blade weapon and snack), irate smokers and enough empty beer bottles to chuck at whoever invades this fine rock.

Since when does Japan go on the defensive? We put it in their constitution that they can't take up arms...

I'm glad they're doing it in this situation, though.

How does it violate the rules?
sighs

2006 United Nations Security Council resolution.

Resolution 1718 "demands" that North Korea "not conduct any further nuclear test or launch of a ballistic missile."

That's how

Great! More Doom and Gloom but I am sure it will all work out and there will be no deaths because Korea will give it some thought before making a war! Tell me if I am being too positive?

To positive. Did you not see that N. Korea said if Japan shoots down the rocket, they will invade and destroy all major military cities?

Does putting a satellite into space really count as a ballistic missile launch? Technicalities...

Hey, since you're so paranoid: Why aren't you worried about the satellite?! It could be an ion cannon! Or an EMP device like in that Snake Plissken film!

There is no proof that it is a satellite.
Only proof is Kim Jong-il's word and no one trusts him.

Follows a ballistic trajectory: e.g. heading into low earth orbit. There's no way to tell the difference until it's in the danger zone, and dropping a payload from a satellite would be essentially the same as a MIRV when fired even if they ARE just launching a satellite.

They say many things but most of the time it doesn't happen! Besides, we have many allies and Kim will get his head kicked in if he takes it too far!

Well, from what I've heard, North Korea has at least 1 nuclear missle and an army that could all fit inside a coach bus, so hopefully, the nuke hits directly on Noth Korea itself, cause they'll probably just get 200 guys to throw it at Japan, and just kill themselves. But not South Korea. South Korea is a kickass country with awesome fighting styles.
