Well, I guess the game's okay. My main complaints would be that User Probation is overpowered, and the dialogue is boring and pointless.

Well, i can't believe i missed this thread so far! It seems to be quite to hotbed of funitude. I feel like the only kid without a pokemon back in the days of red and blue.

This thread boggles me. I may a mention of making an RPG, and people are asking me a lot of questions that could be answered with a demo, and they say "Sure, make a demo for us." So I do, and suddenly it becomes about who NewClassic deems worthy to put in his demo. Maybe I should make a disclaimer. Yeah seems like a good idea.
NewClassic does not intend any malice, harm, wrong-doing, or other derogatory action by including or not including any member of the Escapist within his creations, be them satirical or otherwise in nature. Any offense or oversight is not intended as such, and is not meant to harm, detract, or cause hurt in any way, shape, form, or format.
That being said, what the hell guys? This is a thread about my RPG, ideas for it, and whether or not it's a good idea. I appreciate all of the words of praise for the demo, I really do, but you've been derailing this thread since about Page 3.
So, let me bring this sucker back on topic. The main RPG project is now in progress, and will take probably until early November until the design for the first town is down, much less any significant amount of gameplay. I'm currently working on the database, which means working on the items, the weapons, the armor, the jobs, the characters, the classes, and the terminology and scripting long before I can even create the first map. Then, I have to build a sufficient number of maps, define out the full length of the plot in outline, and the details for the first town, few zones, dungeons, enemies, and bosses. As well as the level layout, equipment, and so on.
Once that databasing is done, I'll begin work on the first town, and surrounding zones. This will likely serve as the tutorial and flash-back for the game, establishing the plot, the customizable portions of the main character, and his or her storyline for the beginning portion of the game.
Because this is a comedy RPG, it will be highly satirical, heavily influenced by the major plot of most fantasy games, and will serve as commentary for all of the silly tropes found in most popular media formats, as well as the turn-based RPG format itself. The writing, at least by events and dialog, will be similar in style to the demo, but have a lot more length and depth to them, because they will not be a rush job like the demo was.
The difficulty will be substancially larger, but still not as difficult as most games should be, as I'm historically more likely to make an easier RPG than a harder one. That being said, I've been known to have bosses that are hell to deal with, so expect some frustration.
My RPG will have Save Points, and disable saving from any other point.
Um... That should clear up most questions about the RPG that will crop up. Anything else, and you will have to wait for the demo. Expect it by mid November, but I'm making no promises. It depends entirely on how much I get done, and how long it takes. All dates are rough at this point.
Also, to everyone trolling everyone else, just stop folks. GenHellSpawn can dislike my writing and demo if he wants to. Just mean his tastes run very different from ours.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Necro, but you're going to be given, at the very least, a passing mention in my RPG. I won't butcher you horribly, as you'll probably only be mentioned in passing, or as a character that never appears in-game except for in dialog.TheNecroswanson said:
