If he does things people don't like then in the future he won't be able to do things that are really needed.

If you want a leader who doesn't need to please everybody just to blow his nose I suggest you move to a dictatorship.
I'd say the whole recession deal is definitely one of those times when things are really needed. So he should at least try to pull us out of it before he screws himself over.
You do realise that if he doesn't make people happy it's doubtfull he will be able to do that which angers others?

It would make his last action a failure, again if you wan't a goverment where the leaders don't care about making those they serve happy then I suggest you move to a dictatorship like North Korea, because that seems to be the type of goverment you want.

How dare that politician attempt to appease his supporters, I've never heard of a politician doing such a thing!
That bastard! How dare he break the traditions the neo-conservatives set up long ago!? I can't believe he dares help someone else than the private sector!

He is doing what he thinks is best for helping out his country and many of the citizens in America love him for it.

Ummm, aren't leaders supposed to lead and aid and please the public, or did I just have a wrong mindset as to what a president should be?

First: Comunist =/= Dictatorship.

Second: The United Kingdom is far from a comunist nation.

EDIT: Oh, a joke. My bad.

Or I want a leader who cares for his people, and has the intelligence to run a country...

What are they going to do? Kick him out of the country?

If the legislation isn't really enforceable, isn't it kinda moot?

Evidently no one got my point. I was citing the part of the article where it states that the Lawyers will throw a hissy fit if he instates malpractice lawsuit limits. It then says that they are a main supporter of the Democratic party. Well screw the Democrats! Screw the Republicans! Do what's best for the country, not your party affiliation, and even if it gives you a bad name, you will be praised for it in the long run.

Do you know who your leaders are?
Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and John Roberts.

The reason they are your leaders is because the power is sperated between:
The President of the United States
The United States House of Representatives
The Supreme Court of the United States

That is how it was made to be 200 or so years ago, the president is suppost to compromise, thats how the system works. Which brings us around to my first point: Deal with it or leave.

He is the first Black President. I'm not being racist here, but the isn't the media just waiting for a reason to rip him apart? Why wouldn't he try to make everyone happpy?
You meant the same media that made him look like the messiah himself during the election?

...

No I don't think so.

Becasue that's what presidents do. They please the public.
Actually, the president originally only had two responsibilities: Commanding the nations armed forces, and being a check against power-hungry acts of congress. through the process of precedent [He did that so i have to do it too, etc, etc] Those powers have been expanded both past the boundary of the law and far too wide in my opinion.

Its doesn't say he CAN'T do it, I guess...

what you fail to realize is that he is doing is best for the country. if he dosnt please some of the intrest groups they will sit there and make a really big deal and thus kill the bill or whatever stage the legislation is in. thier like Republicans if you dont do what they want they sit there and ***** and whine till they get it.
FACT: Republicans have not used a filibuster [vote blocking maneuver] in congress in more than 100 years.
FACT: Democrats have used at least four in every Republican controlle dcongress since its institution.

definition of filibuster said:
1(n) filibuster, filibusterer (a legislator who gives long speeches in an effort to delay or obstruct legislation that he (or she) opposes)
2 (n) filibuster ((law) a tactic for delaying or obstructing legislation by making long speeches)
