He is merely pleasing the public to keep him in place. He needed the public's side to become president anyway, and he needs them afterwords on his side to make sure they don't impeach him.The King Blues said:Power comes from the bottom up, not the top down.

I'm sorry to tell you but Obama is against gay marriage and seeing that it's the only real right that gays need. The rest will follow sense there mostly a package deal. Oh and McCain said Gay Marriage was a state issue and said that for years so gays were better off with McCain.Propagandasaurus said:Obama, I love you man, but you had better start working on gay rights and overthrowing DOMA and DADT. I understand that it's a sensitive issue, but people are losing patience with this shit and you do NOT want to go into your second term having only a bullshit "Gay Pride Month" credit to your name.
With the definite exception of Theodore Roosevelt.ph3onix said:Gooood one. Also, I do not trust American presidents. I think they are all muppets for corporations.Cliff_m85 said:Not for the past 70 years.flare09 said:Becasue that's what presidents do. They please the public.

In a way, you can say that of any president though. Anybody who agrees with a president can just say, well he's not pleasing me, therefore he must be spending his time pleasing everyone else, not doing what's best. It's easy to pick apart the president, no matter who it is. If McCain would have won the election, we'd be reading about his special interest pleasing instead, it's Obama. I figure I'll actually give the guy more than a few monthes before I judge him. Any president is going to have a tough time, and with so much scrutiny, as well as inheriting Bush's issues with the war, the economy, and everything else, he's got it tougher than any president in recent history. The same would be true if anyone else were elected. I say, Let's see where we go from here, rather than rip him apart for trying to run the country in a way that not everyone approves of.dnnydllr said:He's not pleasing the public, he's pleasing the groups that support him, doing what's best for them, and setting the well-being of the public off to the side.
