When I beat dark link with just a sword and shield. Took 3 faries but I did it :)
I'm going to plug my 64 back in just to play that game again.

I remember the first time I played the game I could never beat Ganon because I didn't know that you HAD to use the Master Sword once you got it back, I kept using the Biggoron's sword and he never died. I got mad, but once I beat the game it was awesome.

My favorite moments of the game were in the later dungeons. The Fire Temple was just awesome, the Water temple was very satisfying to beat, especially after fighting Dark Link, and the Shadow temple was real creepy but with an awesome atmosphere to it.

Yep, good times.

I remember when I first played it I was young was wasn't sure how the save feature work. I would have gotten the fairy shield and Kokiri Sword at least 40 times and damn did sitting through the Great Deku Tree's Speech get annoying.

The best Nostalgic moments for me would when you first go to Hyrule Castle as an adult and Link freaks out, the quest for the Ruby stone starting at leaving the forest and ending with Gorons trying to hug you and finally Bongo Bongo.

lol, the water temple frustrated me so much, I drew a map of it, and labeled the location of all of the items. lol, now I whip it out whenever I play that level.

Right now my roommate and I are doing a 3 heart challenge. We are at the Ganondorf fight now and have yet to attempt it. But as for nostalgia, nothing is quite like getting one shot from gauntlets.
i just finished a 3 heart challenge
* only 3 hearts
* no heart pieces at all!
* don't turn off the console or even touch it!
* timed including video sequences
i win at 9:57

The first boss, Queen Gohma, is the first video game boss I've ever fought and beat.

I remember sitting in front of the tv (literally IN FRONT, I didn't have glasses yet but I still needed them), with my dad sitting next to me and my mom watching from the couch way behind us. I was shaking like a leaf once it was over.

its easier if you use the broken sword and just stab wildly at it!

din's fire and the hammer work well too. This was just a personal challenge I set for myself.

I remember introducing it to my friend who never played a Zelda game before. I also remember him beating it before me because I was stuck on the FUCKING WATER TEMPLE!!! But thankfully, as the good friend he is, he helped me beat the temple. He also watched me beat Gannon for the first time.
Ah, memories.

Remember how the gossip stones did different things when you use different weapons? Damn that was fun.

I just beat the game about a week ago. I was surprised to find that I could find all 36 heart pieces and all 100 skulltulas without help.

My favorite memory though was when I did a 3 heart run, no heart piece and no defensive barrier protection (the white outline where you take half damage). I was 12 when I did that. Now that I am 22 I needed as many hearts as I could get. I have no idea how I got past Volvagia with only 3 hearts and 4 bottles (technically 12 hearts).

My favorite in game moments were:
Getting the Serenade of Water.
sniping Moblins
Staring at the Gerudo (don't look at me like that. I was 12 and you did it too)
first time lifting something with the golden gauntlets
jumping the canyon at Gerudo Valley
The realization of how much destruction occured while Link was trapped
confusion as to who got Link an earring
freaking out the first time I walked into the House of Skulltula
Hunting the Big Poes
Phantom Ganondorf

That game is just too epic.

And I don't care about what flaws people say it has. I have no issue with the camera, and the combat is still awesome.

And I might as well through it out there. The change Kokiri into Arwings code. Sure it wasn't on the original, I don't care.

How could I forget I left a save at Dark Link just so I could fight him again, but I let the Like Like eat my shield before fighting him. Yes, I fought him with just the master sword. It didn't change anything because I rarely used the shield, but it sure made Link look goofy.

I remember when I rented it went it first came out (I think I was 8 at the time), I just ending up exploring Kokori Village and the Lost Woods the whole time because I could never figure out how to get through the Deku Tree (the using of the burning stick to burn the web)...

I've always felt like the black sheep for not really liking this game. As a matter of fact I don't think Zelda made a good 3D transition at all. Maybe I'm just too old but I prefer 2D zeldas.

I must have been a talented 8 year old because I got to the forest temple before I had problems.
