I was about to go out and buy a new nano on Monday, it would have been my first Apple device.
Guess I won't any more, even though as a PC user I'd be fine, but just on principle I refuse to ever give Apple any of my money.

Warms my cockles this. Okay so Apple is effectively using Itunes software to let you know just how much they care about you and your wallet and that you should be buying up to date, more expensive Apple products!

I hate to have been a cause for you to deny yourself of a new gizmo. Yet oddly pleased too. Apple is a blight, moreso than Microshit ever will be. Inferior hardware for inflated prices...and those annoying pricks who feel superior in using them. Almost as bad as those console plebs. ALL HAIL THE PC GAMING MASTER RACE.

Also, I hate Steve Jobs. Something about him makes me want to pummel his smirk face in with a cinder block.
Heh, I have that same attitude about Mark Cuban.

OT: At least now I'll be a lot less jealous at my friends' MAC's.

I certainly hope the Windows pcs won't get this shit.
I've never had a mac, but I get frustrated beyond normal reasoning when a headset breaks ( I just got a new one, it beeped like an idiot and It gave me a headache. Now it lies broken in my dumpster because I smashed it into my floor, And I am going to get ANOTHER one tomorrow). Let alone my entire custom build PC.

HumancentIpad from Southpark anyone? READ OR BE PUNISHED?
I feel sorry for all the MACusers here who got screwed, useless stuff that costs money is always saddening.

And that's why I still have a PC. That and gaming. Oh, I'd love to get a MAc for my artwork, but that's all I'd be using it for.
Yeah I'm kind of in the same boat. The only reason I would get a Mac is for artwork and video editing.
Wait... But why? You have access to the exact same software on a PC than you would on a mac. Assuming you go the Adobe route. Hell if you take the GIMP route, it's free if I'm not mistaken. This includes your Final Cut Pro.

OT: This is pretty detestable. This is why I recommend a Creative Zen. They're Cheap, you only need 8GB's at most. Seriously now, I mean it, and even though it comes with software to manage the music and files on it, the windows API will also do it for you. If you don't download your music, the Creative software can rip music from discs. Did I mention you have full control over your music too? No locking anything in. Fucking, freedom.

With that said, can apple die now? Or do I need to research phones so we can get something better than an iPhone. I'm still using a Nokia from 5 years ago. It makes calls.

And this is why the only Apple products i'm ever going to be purchasing are tablets. I'm quite happy with my iPad, thank you. Shame about those macbook users though. Vendor lock-in is a nasty way to screw the consumer.

Apple's entire business model centers on "user friendly" products (meaning you're just plain not allowed to look under the hood) and "convenience" (meaning fixing something is as 'easy' as just throwing it out and buying another).

In between those two points is a land called "customer service," which is governed by a giant money-printing machine.

Avoid Macs for your personal or school use.

Unless you're spending $10k on a Mac workstation, Macs are no better than PCs for video and artwork. Factoring in the MacTax you could have some high end RAM, an all-in-one watercooler and some serious overclocking for a mid range PC and have more performance for a chunk less money.

More importantly, as time passes PCs are much less susceptable to compatability disasters. Or put it another way, my 2004 £1000 base unit still runs fine. It still runs the latest creative software more or less flawlessly (Illustrat/PS CS4, Painter XI etc, some of Photshop's higher animation features cause it pain though) and can still be plugged in to all the various bits of hardware that pass through my hands. Try doing that with a £1000 Mac from 2004...

Of course, if the company you work for wants to buy you a spanking new one every two years, that's different matter.

I agree with all of the above criticism.

Also since I don't own any Apple device, I've only recently (South Park) learned that it's tech support are called "geniuses". How can they call people working in a fucking store "genius" with a straight face is beyond me.

"Genius" hahahaHAHAaha. Oh, wow.

The only way this fucking company could get any more pretentious would be to place bouncers in front of their stores and only let the "cool" people in.
There was a line from The Big Bang Theory by Sheldon. Something to do with working as an Apple genius even if the use of the word genius was laughable.

Have to agree with you, people need to drop that "Apple is better for graphic design" horseshit.

Anyways, Linux <3
Meh, Linux is a great OS in itself but I tend to have major issues with anything that isn't on NT.

Also...

I win :>
Now see, if only Apple didn't dominate the market for MP3 players, because the Zune is honestly a better product. Too bad they're not making them anymore...

I would have a windows partition if it wasn't so expensive.
Simple, Windows continue to support stuff for a decent length of time.

There is still over a year to go before Microsoft drop official support for XP. XP hasn't been on sale for four years now and anything Microsoft release is still compatable with it. Also, Windows is much easier to create third party work rounds for, so people on older OS don't tend to get shut out quite so abruptly.

Even more importantly, every major update and compatability fix for XP so far has been free. That's the big differenc, install Drivers for X, find you need to install update Y, update Y will be free.

Not that Microsoft don't have their own issues with being dicks, but in that respect they're pretty good.
