Yeah I remembered about half way in how crap she is. Yeah but she seemed to insist it was to track us down and stuff like that. It's for criminals dammit. Oh and one person said in response to an article "I think it wrong to tattle on benefit cheats" Upon asking "why?" I was greeted with "They are you neighbours" So like murderers shouldn't be reported. Oh and this is the same guy who thinks EVERY SINGLE foreigner is stealing our jobs/money/housing. Another idiot said that all Indian people smell bad or of more specificity Curry. And because they are Indian shouldn't be given jobs like doctors, because they smell. While he didn't want to be touched by them. And because a DOCTOR is stealing a job one of the most qualified jobs in the world, is being stolen by someone perfectly capable.. Oh and he was deadly serious even after I face palmed him.
That has the making of a good wall o'text there... A few line breaks here and there, it makes it easier on the eyes.

Also, yes they are for criminals but why should we all be treated like we might becriminals when the majority of us wouldnt even think about it.

Yeah... that guy is an idiot... I cant really take his argument seriously.
They do not hinder us really. They protect us. So I see no harm.

I'm English and in a rather "normal" area
Normal like "Deep South" or normal like "NYC"?
I'm not sure of the American equivalent. But certainly not deep south at all. More... Northern. Perhaps someone can give a more specific example than I.

on the issue of climate change we cant really afford to be wrong about this if its real (I think it is) we have to do something if we dont were more or less fu**ed.

if it isnt real and we do something we atleast clean up the enviroment and stop or use alot less oil which isnt going to last forever so basically stuff we should do anyway regardless of climate change

I was listening in to a dialogue between 2 friends and they were talking about the something involving africa... i can't remember the exact topic but at one point one of them mentions something about fire and the other went "wait... wait wait wait... there are fires in africa?"

There was a long silence afterwards until i snorted and the laughter ensued

He realised what he just said and laughed himself but geeeeeze, we were sure he was for real. The look on my other friends face was the definition of WTF!

You mean you're english and live in a relatively republican area, not normal. HUGE difference.
Conservative... Republican and Conservative arent one and the same. We dont have "Republicans" in England as that political party doesnt exist here... we do have "Conservatives" but even they dont hate gay people that much... the BNP, now theres a group similar to the Republicans, albeit worse but similar.
Ah, my apologies. Glad you got what I meant XP (And hope you laughed)

I's also to think romance has all but died. But it has. Though I'll be damned that it dies before me.

That's not the point. They accepted the idea that this is all blown up to idiotic levels of panic, and then said that it's good even if politicians are fucking with our heads.

Anyway, I'm not the one to represent this, but I'll say this: Look into both sides of the coin. The IPCC may be giving us this proof, but there's no contradiction. To quote an old Arabic mathematician: "The seeker of truth does not put trust in any old consensus: he questions it, and submits his learning from it to reason & demonstration." Believe me, I was sold on the idea that we have to save ourselves from carbon doom, but I read more into it, and there is proof on the other side of the coin, but the media will never ever put these out. Yes, they can't put out things that are "lies", but they're denying scientists who've worked their asses off and found just as good proof as Al Gore or Michael Mann. Take Richard Lindzen or Anthony Watts as an example.

I will not debate this. You may reply, but I will not debate. I cannot tell you what is right or wrong, only what may be unclear. The rest is up to you to find out. If you're willing to look into this theory, I can provide sources and be glad to help, or, you can ignore my preaching. It's fully understandable, it sounds crazy from an outside perspective. We'll just wait and see who saved the world or who doomed it. Good day to you now.
Come on man, havent you heard? The supreme court have ruled that carbon emissions are harmful and the EPA have made it official greenhouse gases are a pulic health threat, its over.

Oh and only 4% (I am being generous there) of scientists deny global warming.

So can we look at sorting out the problem rather than hiding from it?

First thing that springs to mind is that Bush got to become president of the USA..
And as if that was not bad enough, they elected him to sit there for two periods.. I mean, come on!!

If this is not the definition of stupid, then i dont wanna know..

The sad fact is that to often highly philosophical ideas are wielded by ignorant pricks and warped in such a way that the discussion of morality becomes meaningless to the material world. And then what fucking use is it?
It's late. I'm tired. Perhaps because of this I'm not entirely sure of your point.
Are you saying that scientifically gays are a-ok? Or are you saying that morals are meaningless? Or are you calling me an ignorant prick?

Honestly, I have no idea. No sarcasm. Please simplify.
Well not exactly a simple subject now is it =/?

Anyways, no I wasn't calling you a prick, the gist of what i was saying is that I think that discussions of morality should be grounded in the material world, meaning that science can be applied to the discussion. Also I do think that as long as there is a consensus that morals should be to mankinds benefit, that then you can indeed determine some morals universally right or wrong.

Also, yes gays are a-ok scientifically, in that there isn't any difference between them and "normal" folks beyond the fact that they like to fuck people from the same gender.

At the start of this year I left my Applied Science A-Level course because the other people in my class were in short, morons. Incapable of following the simplest of instructions and having to have the most basic scientific theories explained to them several times. You may think I'm exaggerating and being smug but this is genuinely what the teacher said to me when I saw her in the hall last week:

"I miss your intelligence"

Unprofessional? Maybe. Hilarious? Hell yes. I can't think of any particular moments off the top of my head but if I remember some, I'll come back.

I mean.... AT LEAST learn about things before you put them down

Also, keep in mind that people aren't stupid for having opinions. People are stupid if they take a social stand and can't defend their position logically.
People are also stupid if their opinion involves a grudge against any human of a different culture, orientations etc... excluding people who hate the haters (irony, I know...)

I haven't had anything that bad, but I did have a teacher who was often zealously politically correct. I remember we all had to do a 15min oral presentation on something (mine was on Airsoft and why it should be legal in Australia) and one girl, a friend of mine, she did a thing on women in Afghanistan. She talked a lot about atrocities that were happening there to women, pretty horrifying stuff.

I said something like "Well that's pretty much why we need to kill all the Taliban"
Teacher "You can't say something like that!"

Then I spent five minutes arguing how Taliban was not synonymous with Muslim (which she seemed to believe), that they were a dangerous fanatical organisation connected with Al Queda and pretty much the entire point of having troops in Afghanistan.
