Maybe if you weren't a pussy you would call him weird to his face.

He may be a nutter, but he can probably crush you.
He probly could, I can't fight for shit.

And I'm not calling him behind his back..
If you insult someone, to someone else, without them knowing, thats behind his back.

Never say something about someone you wouldn't say to their face. Trust me, you will earn a lot of peoples respect.
Does saying "He looks weird." Once when I first saw him count as an insult? If it does then I'm guilty of doing it once. But I don't usually do that.. I don't think. Pretty sure I don't.

Wait I just said I wouldnt treat him differently, why is that still a problem.

And yeah I did talk about him, and laugh yeah, but I still made the effort to talk to him afterwards. Sure it doesn't make it right but my prejudgements were confirmed to a degree and like I said I'll still continue to talk to em.

And he is weird. He does weird things. That doesn't mean that I mean it in an insulting way. And again like I said for like the 5th time, I won't treat em differently
No but you have and not in a good way, ever had a class laughed at you because you were different? If no then you won't know how humiliating and how difficult it is to work with people who have laughed at you like that
How about you just apologies to him for laughing, if you don't like his personality then thats fine. Laughing at him is the problem I have with you
It was more of a quiet snicker but.. there's no real difference. And yeah I have been laughed at like that once or twice. Which makes what I did even worse probably
Yeah I really don't like you
Grow up
Apologies
Don't do it again
Then we can talk

No, I don't do that, because I'm "one of those people" who get talked about behind their back. So are most of my friends. Mainly because I actually like reading and hang out with the anime club back at school.

Also, what you think is weird and what I think is weird is different. I think it's weird how people can judge others on their appearance.

You're not a terrible person. We all do this, because it's a natural human reaction. As long as you don't accept your preconceived notions of a person as fact before you've ever had any kind of interaction with them, then you've committed no wrong and shouldn't feel bad. If you genuinely make an attempt to know and understand the person (and it certainly seems that you have), then you've done all that you can.

I see no reason not to laugh, if you dress in that way you've got to expect people to react, you make the choice to wear what you wear and so should bear the consequence's.

the only difference between people who like looking different and those who don't like looking different is that people who dont like looking different dont think looking different is ok. but that said some people just do it for attention. this kinda thing annoys me tho if i want my hair dyed red and spiked (which i have) i wouldnt like to be branded a weirdo by being judged by the minority of the group who are weirdo's!.
The longer this goes on I'm wondeirng more why I did it, which is inititally what I was trying to convey in my OP, because I love it when people do things like have spiked hair or blue hair or are comfortable doing what they want like reading which I love too.

So I'm honestly at a loss at why I came to a prejudgement on this kid that he's weird as I'm always saying weird is really in the eye of the beholder

I'd say subconscious cues more or less, Some people are more receptive to these cues than others. Things that seem mundane to the conscious could very well be determined by the subconscious as warning signs.

With that aside, we all have our quirks, so turn the judgmental pendulum the other way and examine how weird you might appear if people were examining every detail of your life. I put it in that perspective and people don't seem that weird anymore, even the most foreign types of behavior..

I lost respect for you around here.

They are pricks, and would have made those comments even if he acted normal.
Woah. Woah. Calm down.

He's a school-kid. Who wasn't a colossal prick when they were a child?

Probably Nelson Mandela..... and some doctors.

Actually, doctors probably were, being all smug about their intelligence.

Anyway, point is, you can't lose respect for him for saying that, it's pretty normal for a school-kid to be a judgmental prick. It's whether he grows out of it which is the issue.
Technically college but it make slittle difference.

Thing is I've never thought of myself as a colossal prick until I made this OP as I'm always thinking how much I love it when people look different (spiked hair, etc.) And hate when people make prejudgements and stick to them.

So either I'm a raging hypocrite or I'm just fucked up

Judging people on looks can work, but usually only if they obviously look a lot like a specific stereotype. People who look like a chav wearing golden jewellery & the likes will often end up being one as well.

So basically, OP, you're telling us that you're a tool.

That's fine, just be less open about it in the future.
Not really, but that is a part of it I spose. I was trying to say sometihng but I've actually just ended up making it look like im some prejudgmental nutcase. But then after doing this thread I've discovered that maybe I am and I just don't know it. Which is quite a shock to me

I TALK to myself, but I guess that's different. As someone that most people probably thinks is either a crack baby or gay, I have to say I don't care much about weird people. I do have a tendency to hate loud people (because they annoy me) or avoid thugs (same reason), but overall people are ok with me if they contribute to society and don't live exclusively on welfare.

Great you've been civil, doesn't mean I have to like what you've done and no I have pointed out why I don't like you and is it really that hard to apologies to someone for rudely laughing at him?
I don't expect or really either want a reply unless you do or even consider it, otherwise this is just going to turn into a flamewar

Plain and simple to me. There are certain type of people I don't talk to only because I wait until they talk to me to see how they are. I was always put in this "labeling" that you described in your first post, OP... I don't judge people based on looks and eccentric acts. I tend to like people more when they do that because it shows that they don't care what the more "popular" people think about them.

I've always been part of the "weird" grouping and I have great friends.
Don't judge people based on just looks and eccentric acts... it's not right and you could be losing a great opportunity to make an awesome friend.

This isn't new. I say the same thing I always do, people are ignorant, insensitive, selfish piles of insecurity and superficial bullshit, they treat other people (especially people who don't conform to their shittyness),ironically , like shit, and I still think they would be better off dead

I never actually said I wasn't gonna apologise, although it'll only really matter if the enire class does. But I sitll plan to, Infact I always did I just didn't think I had to tell you as I didn't tihnk it mattered to you whether I aplogised or not
