Pheonix Wright: Ace Att-OBJECTION!

But seriously, it's a shame if you haven't played the game and beaten it.
I love the series to death.
And it's just awesome when you bust them.

Danny Phantom is a good pick. I've played that so much and I'm still not done with it.

Blue Dragon plus might be a good one, it seems like it may last long, but I've only just started so I can't say for sure though.

Any Pokemon game will keep you occupied for a few days at the least.

Zelda, any game will do.

Mario & Luigi, any game there will do too.

Final Fantasy III or IV will do great too.

Dragon Quest IX, you can make a martial artist and KUNG-FU FIGHT!
There so much stuff to do in that game.
Yea, I've been hearing good things about DQ9. I'll have to check that out.

My suggestion would have to still be GTA Chinatown Wars. It's a long game with tons to do if you're not digging the story. I might've already spent 12 hours just on the drug wars.
And frankly (so far) it's probably the best thing out of R* this generation.

Pokemon, can't go wrong.
Nope, they can't. I've used my Game Boy Color on this vacation for a total 14 hours in just 3 days.
Tells a little about the addictive part of the game, doesn't it?
As for a DS game, I'd recommend Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver, because they've got proper Pokemons in them.

Advance Wars, any of them. They are so addictive and fun to play. That or Pokemon, or even Tetris. I find that if you have a lot of time to fill and you need to play a game, a simple one will do best.
A agree with you buddy, Advance Wars everytime. :)

I can't believe no one else has said this (and I missed it).

Elite Beat Agents. Yes, it is a rhythm game, but it is hell of fun.

Either of the Mario and Luigi games are pretty much perfect for a long trip, about 12-15 hours long, entertainin and really immersive while you play; and the perfect amount of lack of replay value.

Mmhm, mmhm, all good suggestion, but have you considered a GBA game, as well?
The Golden Sun games are absolutely top-notch, combining the intricate and well-told story of a JRPG and some puzzle-solving skills in the dungeons. Only problem with that is you'll probably want to find a list of the Djinn locations, they're pretty important if you want to seriously pwn the bosses early on.
After that, there's FFVI, of course. IMO, it's the best game in the Final Fantasy series, with a cast of all totally likable characters, unlike the later games, where most people are going to have some problem with at least one of the characters.
Metroid Fusion is like all the other 2D Metroid games, but something that sets it apart from the rest of the series - the Prime trilogy, most of all - is that there of shades of survival horror, and the feeling that you're up against some monsters that can and will mercilessly tear you apart. Unlike the other games where you can go through on your first time with the feeling that you're a real authentic bounty hunting badass, you're going through Fusion with the vague dread of going through a room and ZOMGIT'SEVILYOU!!

Buuuuuuut if you really want a DS game, I'd definitely recommend one of the Mario & Luigi RPG games. They're both great fun, and playing as Bowser in the most recent one is such a breath of fresh air, it's worth it just to play as everyone's favorite antagonist.

Picross 3D if you like puzzle games, I haven't been able to stop playing it for the 2 weeks I've owned it and I'm still not halfway through, its relentlessly addictive.

Shin Megami Tensai: Devil Survivor if you like RPG's with fun gameplay twists, you can look it up for yourself if you like turn based RPGs but I'm not a huge fan, and I really enjoyed this game.

Another good turn based game is Age of Empires: Age of Kings on the DS, some people didn't like it, but I think they transitioned well from the PC game I grew up on to the DS's limitations.

Mario Kart if you like...well, Mario Kart

And any of the DS Castlevanias, the first I'd recommend is Dawn of Sorrow, then Portrait of Ruin, and I never played Order of Eclessia, but I heard it was just about as good as the other two.

Oh, and in Phantom Hourglass: The solution to the sun puzzle is to close your DS.
I'm pretty sure you just ruined one of the most rewarding game experiences anyone has every had. Fuck you. (In a nice way).

OT: Puzzle Quest 2! Shit is so addictive and awesome.
