Light sabres exist, and is won't be a while till you see the headline "Masked Vader holds up a bank with saber and force choke"
They are no where near lightsabers

You mean stars can't sing? I figured sound would travel more easily in a vaccuum, seeing as there isn't any matter to get in the way.

Yeah I would totally screw with the survey results, and I plan on doing that right now.

I really, REALLY hope this is some kind of Onion prank or something cause people seriously cannot be this stupid. I mean seeing Gravity? To quote the OP what the fuck does that even mean?

Now I will be the first to say the average person is stupid. This, however, has got to be some major trollin.

I don't like the wording on some of the questions.

I mean, of course stars sing- and if they don't do it as a career, perhaps they're doing it for charity. Everyone likes to watch a badly singing celebrity.

hoverboards do exist, they're basically just small hovercraft with a flat base to stand on.
They're not quite Back To The Future standard but they're still hovering boards.

(Also, how am i supposed to know you can taste an insects age?)
(Also if the stars count as singing so does my ceiling fan)

Ok, if you have to do something to star oscillations to make them into sound, that doesn't mean they can sing. Even then it's just making random noises, not songs, what a misleading question.

They got me fair and square with the insect tasting one though. I wouldn't have called it.

Well, now at least Americans have some way to reply when someone says half of them can't find their own country in a map.

Although memory-erasing technologies do exist, to an extent. Just ask Elizabeth Hoftus [http://www.spring.org.uk/2008/02/implanting-false-memories-lost-in-mall.php]. And you can see gravity, in the way that when it's strong enough it beds light around it. But it can only really observed on the edges of a black hole, so there.
I'm pretty sure you can erase memory, you kill the person and incinerate their brain for good measure.
Yeah! let's see you remember area 51 now, ash!

I only read first page of thread but in relation to the seeing gravity thing, depends how you read the question.

I am from the UK and its perfectly legitimate to say you can see gravity in the sense that if I let go of a ball for example it will fall to the floor...so I see it drop, seeing the effects of gravity - which some people might say is seeing gravity.

Virtually all of the questions are down to interpretation obviously...

But as for real lightsabers...3-5 years away, I go on the forums...I know my stuff...Just wait a few xmases in the future I will be carving the turkey with ol'green (How I met your Mother reference - Im not being serious -_-)

Failed logic here.

3000 people took part in this survey.
1/5 British people think Light Sabers are real based upon this survey.

Britain has around 60 million people.

If I went into every British church and asked everyone there if they believed in God, I wouldn't then be able say that everyone in Britain believed in God.

It is called random sampling. They are used in surveys all the time.

Which is fine, but it doesn't work if you try and then use those statistics to generalise an entire continent.
