^^Sorry to dissapoint you, but virtual reality can never mimic real life, or have the budget for it.
that goes to deus ex, hands down, no contest. however, crysis was a great fps (not the best by any means and it has a ton of problems, but the fact that ive gone through the first 7 levels about 3 dozen times without getting bored says something now doesent it?). its a lot deeper in terms of gameplay mechanics and the fact that your free to do things however you see fit, a notion that many shooter developers feel they are too good to include *looks at infinity ward*. its not the best game ever by a long shot, but it is one of the best shooters to come out in a long time in my opinion (and ive been a heavy shooter fan since quake 2).Aries_Split said:Think about this, Crysis can have the worlds' greatest graphics, but did that make it the worlds greatest game?mjhhiv said:Alright, that's as good as any game has ever looked. This looks better than all of the upcoming games, also - so I'll ask again, what do you think looks better than Crysis? The only game that looks remotely as good is Far Cry 2, but even that isn't quite up to the standard Crysis set.Bulletinmybrain said:Yechezkel said:Imbrium said:Crysis - it doesn't look half as pretty as anyone says![]()
One of these is real life. The other one is Crysis. Pick which is which.
It's not impossible, but there's no way in hell you can do it at a glance.
Left one is crysis? The picture is a bit sharp, The grass has no deviation, and the shadows arn't on par as much as I would hope. The moutains are meh not enough AA, and the gates not beat up when the rest of the house looks it.
Damn. You got everyone there. Saying the game was okay would be an overhype of ungodly porportions.slipfreak said:you want to talk about a game that didnt live up to the hype,E.T. on the atari 2600. With one fail swipe it killed one of the leaders at the time. What other game was so bad they drove the inventory out to the desert and buried it like it was he spawn of satan.
Most critically acclaimed yes, but it failed to deliver, frankly...Half Life wasn't that great and that made up over half of the compilation so I'm very well justified when I state that it was over hyped. Not bargain material.Codgo said:5 of the most critically acclaimed first person games ever made, it was a damn bargin.Iron Mal said:3. The Orange box- Besides Portal (which was a one time round sort of game in my opinion) this game was not worth the £50 I paid for it.
£50? I got mine for £25 new so you must have got ripped off.
stalker has more rpg elements than bioshock, and seeing as stalker is pretty much a straight up shooter thats saying something.Bob Saget said:Well, as far as over-hyped games go, I think Halo 3 takes the cake, but I know people are chanting that all over this thread, so I'm gonna go with my runner up, Bioshock. Yes, Bioshock was a great game. in fact I'm playing over again as we speak, but it was heralded as the "Best FPS of 2007" and it got GOTY of almost every game reviewer from here to Pluto. However, it was not the FPS/RPG hybrid that it claimed to be. The only RPG element was that you could pick what Plasmids you could have. Whee. Sure it's fun, but I think System Shock 2 had more RPG elements that Bioshock. Of course, I think it's still really fun and all, I just didn't think it lived up to the hype.
SO why do people keep locking threads just because they've been done before sometimes the old threads get too long to know whats happening in them or (most of the time) I'm too lazy to use the stupid badly designed search system (no offense) and most people don't know that the old threads existed and why even get your knickers in a twist for something so insignificant in the first place.PedroSteckecilo said:For Fucks Sake I am sure this thread has been made before. This'll likely be locked in short order.
I would SO play Guilty Gear XXX....... What? I mean it, I'd love to see a new Guilty Gear....TOGSolid said:Now if I could just get Guilty Gear XX Accent Core online or even a fancy new Guilty Gear I'll be happy. Although I don't think they've got the heart to stick to the naming conventions and actually call it Guilty Gear XXX.
well, i dont really get your argument. if you overhype something, youre giving it more recognition than it deserves. how would that lead to less people buying it?Eldritch Warlord said:I see no one puts any stock in my idea that the only way to over-hype a game is to make less people buy it.
Everyone just keeps saying "Halo was overhyped because it wasn't that good."
Well not everyone, everyone who won't read this though.
