... The Dark Knight.

*Hides in Everything Proof Bunker*

Seriously, that movie ONLY did well because of the whole Health Ledger death thing. Fuck, he was a sub-par actor at best. Personally, he ruined the Joker. Actually, he didnt ruin the Joker, because he didnt play the Joker. He played someone with the same name, similar dress sense, but a totally different personallity.

I really do NOT get why everyone went fucking crazy over this movie, it was too drawn out, had terrible actors and was just plain BAD!

Pulp Fiction, Little Miss Sunshine, The Hurt Locker, Austin Powers (all of them), Ace Ventura (maybe 90's comedies just don't hold up well), And for some reason EVERYONE in my high school (thank god I'm finally out of there) just LOVED "Jennifer's Body", I then explained to them how it was a nearly shot-for-shot rip-off of "Ginger Snaps" and got at least 3 people agreeing with me after I showed them. Paranormal Activity and Juno as well.

but my #1 hatred for film...
Juno.

Hated that movie, and the attention it received made it seem that much worse.
I understand your feelings on this one, the movie was OK. But it received a massive cult following, people were hailing it as creations finest moment. ....WTF?

Any movie people go "You never saw ____!?"
Mostly just because that is annoying. Godfather, ET and Aliens are the main ones.
We can judge movies we haven't seen simply on the fact that our friends annoy us? Sweet!

In that case I hate mystic river, citizen cane, and gangs of new york!

OT: Where the Wild Things Are was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, so boring.
Mostly it is because apparently I HAVE to see them if I want to have been alive. I mean, if I was an avid gangster movie fan, but never saw The Godfather movies and someone was surprised, that would be more understandable. Those movies just do not appeal to me, so it should not be a big deal I did not see them.
Hey it makes no difference to me some people don't care to see certain movies it is no big deal.

I just meant don't call movies overrated unless you have watched them to formulate an opinion besides the fact that people pester you about not having seen it.

BTW I have never seen Aliens, ET was ok (i may have been to young to see it), but I do happen to love the Godfather.
By their surprised response, they are suggesting such movies EVERY one should have to see by default. That sounds like overrating a movie to me. Maybe they are great movies, but I have not seen them and been doing fine so far.
You have to see a movie to know if it's overrated. Hearing about it just means it is annoyingly popular. That is all I am saying.

The Shawshank Redemption. It's by no means bad, but http://www.imdb.com/chart/ not that good.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I don't see how Health Ledger was ever a sub-par actor. He did some bad films and he did some great ones, if anything he was just a very young actor.

Just because he did not fit your image of the joker does not mean he was not the Joker. When it comes to acting you are always playing the character that is in the script, but the difference between being the character and becoming the character is how believable you are. And I happened to find him very believable. That is my opinion, not an attack, you are entitled to your as I am to mine.

All Im saying is even great movies dont have to be seen by everyone. I am not arguing quality. Hell, if I just plain dont like alien horror movies, then the best alien horror movie ever is not going to be enjoyable to me.

Well, to suggest someone who does not like such movies should have seen it anyway, I think counts as overrated.

I think there's no such thing as "overrated" considering everything's based on opinions.....except for Twilight, that just seems to accomplish in a most impossible way of overratedness

"overrated" and "rip-off" are the two most overused words nowadays ... but to stay on-topic, of all the "good" movies (based on imdb charts) i saw, i would say Donnie Darko ... i was never really entertained by it and not to mention that i never liked Jake Gyllenhaal...

Avatar, it's not a bad movie it's just overhyped. My biggest compliant with it is that's it a bit too black and white for my tastes personaly. I loved the effects but they made the humans in it either total dicks or pure good guys honestly.
