James Corden annoys me to no end whereas Patrick Stewart has an epic voice. I know who's side I'm on.

Yeah, I sense, or at least hope the 'dying' comment was meant as 'Baldy's so good I'd pay to watch him on stage even doing badly'.

As for Corden firing off a comeback, he's a comedian, and that's what they do, especially being a fat bloke, he's probably had hecklers of a sort all his life, and learned to deflect the barbs with humour, whether or not you personally like him, that's what comics do almost as instinct. He'd have got far worse if he'd said something about Jimmy Carr's hair for instance.

Seems to be less about what was a very minor interchange of banter that turned a little sour, and more about 'OMG Picard is God, someone kill the fatty failure'.

Ok, Corden's not popular here, but I think you lose your comedian licence if you don't comeback to a derogatory comment.

I should say I'm more a fan of Stewart than Corden myself, but I also think Corden's been badly managed, and given far too much airtime too soon, which usually causes a backlash (see Michael McIntyre).

Also, can we PLEASE get over the 'dying' comment, it's obviously meant as 'I can see you not getting the positive reaction from the audience you were hoping for.' It's not a death threat, just as if an actor tells you to break a leg before you go on stage, it's not a threat of shin based violence.

EDIT: I would say it was unwise of Corden to go in quite so hard tho, when dealing with someone well respected, it's only sensible to keep the comments fairly gentle. He did come across as trying too hard. Again, not in Corden's fanclub, but this is an over the top reaction to a small incident, oh wait, it's the internet.

Why was Corden even on the stage with this Legend... surely they could have found someone more respectful than that fat twat

Seen this and just can not believe that the audience and tv shows are defending Corden for being a dick to a man who has more talent in his toenail than Corden does in his whole stodgy body!
All hail Sir Stewart!

He shouldn't be presenting awards if he's up on stage with his fucking hands in his pockets. Even if it is some Glamour award.

So one guy acted like a cock on stage, and another responded with a fat joke. Who gives a flying fuck? You lot getting all offended on behalf of people you've never even met are quite pathetic, really.

I suggest we swiftly vote to exile James Cordon, on the grounds of his failure to understand the term 'comedy'.

This is generally true. He didn't actually deflect anything with wit though, he just got in the mans face...playground shit.

That's not to say that either of them were right, but Corden came across as aggressive, not funny.

OT: What is Patrick Stewart doing at a glamour awards ceremony?

The comedian was obviously suffering from a bit of fanboyness, and, instead of giving in to the girlish desire to squeal and paw Sir Patrick, he instead lashed out like a dumbass.

Anyone who clicks this link will be annoyed. Click at your own peril... [http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/3006381/James-Corden-and-Sir-Patrick-Stewarts-bitter-belly-bust-up.html] It's an article by one of Britain leading toilet papers.
Edited for accuracy. Only time I've been happy to see a copy of the sun was when I went into a toilet stall whic had the sun but no loo roll.

On topic, James Cordan has one of those smug faces I really want to punch. Never seen any of his work though as not a fan of sit-coms.

Patrick Stewart's not an instantly likeable bloke in person, but at least he's a good actor. Corden, meanwhile, fails to fulfil the most basic tenet of his chosen profession; that is to say, he's not remotely funny.
