Wasn't the movie Universal Soldier centered around ressurecting dead soldiers to fight modern wars? My guess is the Army has already inserted clause in the recruitment contracts that allow them to do stuff like this. The next wars will be fought using Zombiefied Super Soldiers.

This is much more reminiscent of Warhammer 40k Space Marines than Zombies. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but don't all Space Marines have the ability to enter a suspended-animation if they're severely or mortally wounded?

I'm already imagining a future war movie where the hero is left only with his now standard zombie syringe and uses it to take out a formidable enemy combatant by inducing suspended animation.

It seems to me it would have to be a relatively small wound if you could bleed out for an hour and still be able to be treated. Something like a gunshot would probably kill you if left for even 15 minutes, right? Still, this is pretty incredible. Science is a pretty miraculous thing sometimes.

Don't forget, hospitals are bringing people back to life within minutes of "death" on a regular basis now. I foresee many of the same people who oppose stem cell research crying "it's not natural!" however.

Sadly we'll always have to put up with the backwards people crying "It's not natural!" or "It's not what god intended!" all over again, it's really anger's me.

There's one possibility I see here:
In an attempt to treat illness/mortality, the government will issue a drug that ends up causing the zombie apocalypse.
It'll be just like "I Am Legend", but daytime is not safe.

Oh, and I strongly recommend reading "World War Z".
