mrnelsby post=9.71824.741829for the trouble it gets him into- his games never live up.
I really wonder if people have actually seen molydouche talk in an interview. Not since Derek Smart has someone been so smug.[/quote said:
What was this thread about again?
If it was about how PM was completly correct in his comments, then we've all agreed the PS3 has no defining game at this momment in time...
Sorry, what was your thread about again?
Would you mind saying why MGS IV doesn't count?
A defining game would be something amazing that is hailed as a game of the year or century, everyone will remember the game and it will be synonymous with the console, it will also be the reason many bought the console.
From what I've heard even fans of MGS found the 4th to be underwhelming so I wouldn't count it as a defining game.
The same thing can be said about Halo 3 and Smash Bros, people always complain about how something isn't as good as the original. I think that MGS4 is a "defining" game of the PS3, it's on the system after all and it's one of the games they were riding on "future potential", but as it stands I can admit that the PS3 doesn't have to many of those "defining" games.
If you look into it closer, there are some good games that could be considered "Defining" it (IE Unchated for it's visuals (which you will not appreciate until you turn on the next-gen filter easter egg) Warhawk for it's amazing lag-free online play, Resistance for it's action and such, ect...) but as it stands, the PS3 admitedly doesn't have as much as the 360 and (maybe) the Wii (i'm reluctant to say the Wii because we all know the kind of shovelware that gets dumped on it)
