The game is rated 18 (or M in America), so the only way that anyone under the age of 18 (or 17 in America) is if their parents buy it for them. That is either the choice of the parent, or due to their stupidity in not looking into the game first. Either way, hardly the fault of the developersThe Capture the Babe mode of the Duke Nukem game, which will be played primarily by young people
Oh shit. I hate FOX news a little bit more already.Onyxious said:FOX News: "Brace yourself for the awfully sexist world of Duke Nukem Forever."
Oh, it's on.
Yes, it does. Most television shows are not of the caliber of "The Twilight Zone" or "Star Trek" or "I Love Lucy", but they still get to stay on the air. Many shows are just silly.JackSparrowSucks said:HEY LET'S IGNORE THIS!
Listen, if we want to take this medium seriously; we have to be the ones regulating it. Just because it's a VIDEO GAEM doesn't mean that it can be offensive and silly.
It's not just Fox, there are other groups such as the petition on Change.org and the Morning Show in Australia. Heck, there are probably other groups too protesting Duke Nukem, but I do agree with you. It is usually the people who have no idea what they're talking about that try to protest these type of things. The same people who would protest the entire gaming industry because they think games will make you violent and/or stupid.AllLagNoFrag said:Fox, you should just give up on this. Usually people who judge things are at the very least EXPERIENCED in the things that they judge.
You make an excellent point, good sir.Xanadu84 said:If it weren't for the fact that DNF is BLATANTLY parody, I think that they would have the right to complain and try to rally like-minded individual against the game. However, the over the top stereotypes of both male and female saves it from being in truly bad taste, Honestly, a Babe slapping mode sounds more like a tounge in cheek sexist thing then a domestic violence thing. And that's fine as long as the audience it is presented to can see it as parody, and not a real artistic intention in and of itself.
